I never tried with blisters but fro sunburn pain:

Believe it or not from my experience cucumber works BETTER than aloe. I blended a cucumber and rubbed it on a bad sunburn before and the pain stopped very fast and helped a lot with redness.

What I would suggest:

Aloe liquid or gel, cucumber juice, lavendar eo, and vitamin e oil. If you have any many chickweed tincture ( a few drops) Makes a great healing oil for burns and sunburns. If using aloe gel blend with a hand mixer or other kitchen mixer and it will make into a cream sort if you pour the oil stuff into it slowly while blending. Keep in the fridge for a few days as the cucumber doesnt last

Hello! Ok I spent all day up at the Dayton Air show and came home

burnt (used sunblock too) and with a big blister on the bottom of my

footie. Do any of you have some suggestions for taking the " burn "

outta sunburn? And what to do with this darned blister...it has me

hobbling around like an old woman! ;}

Hi Stevie,

I am sorry to say that I have never been able to find comfort from a sunburn outside of laying in cool water.

However, when I was a waitress and EVERY time I bought new shoes they would ALWAYS give me blisters on the heel. Someone told me to buy some lambs wool and stick some of it on there with a band-aid.

I did this and I couldn't feel the blister, even wearing the same shoes the next day.

I don't know how you feel about using animal stuff, but it works for blisters.

Apple cider vinegar neat, and in your bath, aloe, if you have the plant

just cut open a leaf and smear it on. As for the blister on your foot,

soak it in 1/2 cup epsom salt in big bowl of water. Gaye

I'm a hiker and runner and the best thing I have found and used (though not

an herbal remedy) is something called " mole skin " . You can find it at

rei.com and this is the best and preferred remedy hikers use. It puts a

kind of insulator between the shoe and you blister so instead of the shoe

rubbing on the blister it rubs on the " skin " . The skin has stuff (???)

inside it that takes the shock and absorbs it so blister can heal.

A big thank you to everyone for their kind suggestions!!! After 24

hours, and some aloe, vinegar in a cool bath then patted on the

burn, it looks and feels better! I'm gonna try the cucumber today! I

imagine that would feel really cooling.

Thanks for the lamb's wool and mole skin ideas, and for the others. I

gotta get me some comfrey...but I don't know about the cayenne

though...guess I'm chicken. ;}

love,

Stevie

If the blister is from sunburn I really don't think I would use the cayenne... unless it was in a salve with some other healing herbs, i.e. comfrey, ect.. Here is Doc's formula

Herbal First Aid Salve. 3 - Cups of Organic Olive Oil1 - Tablespoon of Organic Tea Tree Oil1 - Teaspoon of Organic Peppermint OilAdd the following herbs in a completely dry state only. Remember water and oil don't mix.1/2 cup of Arnica Flowers1/2 cup of Comfrey1/4 cup of Marshmallow Root (either cut and sifted or powdered)1/4 cup of Calendula Flowers Very important not to get any water around this mixture. Let sit for a minimum of two weeks, and then strain and press. Add an ounce or two ofbees wax to stiffen to the consistency you like. This formula is not only good for all the above, but is excellent for cuts, lesions, eczema, poison ivy, burns, hemorrhoids, and bruises as well.Copyright © 1999 by Ian "Doc" Shillington. Suprisingly, not that much. You can put a load of cayenne powder directly on a deep gash and it hardly hurts at all. It'll also stop the bleeding instanter.

Epsom Salts and tea are good. Apple Cider Vinegar is excellent.

Aloe Vera Gel taken straight from the plant and plastered on the area is the ultimate best without question!!!

Colin, I concur. I forgot about the tea thing until you mentioned it!!! Thanks. It's instantly cooling to the burn...amazing! Alright, I was skeptical about the epsom salts but you're the second person to suggest this, soooo I'm going to give it a go. I've heard cayenne can cause blisters straight but don't know if it's true or not. I didn't get blisters but it felt like it lol. My skin turned red and swollen but that's about it. I kept applying water to it the first time - which you should not do because the cayenne will not react with the water. I have heard butter helps but havent tried it. What really soothed me was st johns wort oil

Dear Gaye,

Are you talking about raw fresh peppers or dried???

I've never heard of Cayenne actually physically burning or blistering the skin, and many times I've stuck it in several places where the sun don't shine, and on open wounds in just about every area of the body.

Garlic on the other hand will physically burn. But Cayenne????

Never heard of it.

I know peanut butter works to take the burning out of your mouth from peppers, don't know if it would work on skin though.

Try putting milk on it. My wife does this, and it

helps immediately. Hey, ya gotta do something with the

milk. Can't drink it.
