Ms. Lisa,

I have seen this too. At the park and the school. And, of coarse I went through it in school, myself.

I have the sweetest, most gentlest little boy (like with animals) I've ever been around. Don't get me wrong, he is a boy. And, he can occupy himself. But, he just loves to play with others.

We were at the park one day and I told him to just go and play with the others. Do you know they were hatful to him? They were his age, too.

He has no problems at school...so far, but his kindergarten teacher was Taylor's and she is an all around, one in a million, teacher. I've had problems with Taylor because she has trouble waiting...and I realize that in a class room sitting, you have to wait, but she has to be occupied or moving...I don't think that makes her mentally imbalanced, she's just different from what they want at public school.

The second and third grade teachers all (she had two in second grade) had fits for me to keep her on Adderall. She still got in trouble, and her grades didn't change, believe it or not, so...I don't see the difference. Like I said in that one post, I was the blame when she wasn't on the meds. They blamed her condition when she was on the meds. Doesn't make good sense to me...

But, I know what you mean...it's just hard for me to change after soooo many years of knowing nothing else.

There, I said it...

Hi Angel,

I agree with Doc I'm afraid. I'm homeschooling my 5-year-old son Jamie.

Angel,

sounds to me like your daughter is a normal active child! Just because she doesn't fit in the school system, doesn't make her imbalanced!! It just means she needs a different environment - homeschooling does suit such children perfectly, due to the freedom of movement you have! Is she a lot faster than other kids and hates waiting?

My son is like that. He has to be occupied all the time; gets bored quickly unless his mind is challenged. He can sit with a new game for days solid until he gets the hang of it. Then he'll push it aside as he's bored with it. He's amazing like that. I doubt he could fit his method of learning into a school system LOL

Teaching your own kids means you can give them what THEY need, not what you or the school/teacher needs! it's beautiful!

It can be hard to change. But look at it this way: a new adventure! One you are starting with your family! Exciting and new beginning!

I told Jamie (my son) to be patient with me, as this was just as new for me as it was for him, and I was learning too! He's great!!

love,

Lisa
