I'll be posting a little later today, and will cover this in greater detail, but couldn't resist piping in for a quick one.

Suzi, get some DMSO into her ASAP. Also, some wheat grass juice would help tremendously.

Love,

Doc

[herbal remedies] Deer -fawn... help

Anyone know anything about fawns?? My DH found one about 1-2 months old...a bit torn up..possibly dogs.... bot flies, maggots... starving... we are trying to save it... it is weak . took a little goats milk.. gave it some "kick start" (an herbal remedy from 7M farms)... also a dose of some Bach rescue remedy... trying to kill the flies etc... with some "Swat" for the wounds and used some lite motor oil to keep the flies away... She wags her tail some for my husband... sleeping much... breathing is good. Don't know whether she'll make it or not.....She did get a little gatorade into her tonite...(electrolytes) Suzi

If it looks likes she's fading, remember the Cayenne. It works great on animals.

Yes you can give her Total Tonic.

Yes you can use TT directly on her wounds.

Get those wounds packed with the Total Healing Poultice as soon as you can. The fly larvae will not survive in it.

You can also give her Total Nutrition. Wheat grass is best.

Suzi, keep cleaning her wounds out, once the maggots are gone they should heal pretty well. Pry her with milk. Try some slippery elm in goats milk to build her up further. Spend as much time with her as you can. She needs to be around a lot ot TLC, any mother furbabies on your farm that would accept her? I would have saved her as well.

No Gaye I don't and yes I know it is... but I can't let anything living die without helping it...(always been that way....and can't turn my back)... If it survives I will let it free as we have woods and deer where we live.... I believe every living thing deserves a chance to live..DH and all the guys said it was almost like a sign... coming out and asking for help... wouldn't leave the site...

I don't want to scare you, but it is against the law to have posessionof any type wild animal. My husband was bush-hogging and uncovered anest of baby rabbits, not knowing this law, we called a localveterinarian to find out what to do to feed them etc....He told us aboutthe wildlife law, we had to take them to the person in our area incharge of this...You can be fined for it....Stupid law I know, you areprobably more capable of tending to them than the authorities. Justwanted to let you know about this. I don't know if the law varies fromstate to state though, do you know anyone personally (good friend) withyour State Wildlife & Fish Commission that could help you?
