Guest guest
Looks like if anything you would be closer to being hypoclycemic (sp?) than diabetic. Diabetics can't process sugar and have to make sure their levels don't get to high. But it's most likely just your body telling you to " eat something darnit! " ;-). Everybody experiences a blood sugar drop if they don't eat, some folks are just more sensitive to it than others and your overall health at the time can have an effect as well. To keep your blood sugar constant, keep doing what your doing but eat several small meals throughout the day instead of grouping all the food into a couple bigger meals (you may already be doing this). Guest guest
I've been interested in this subject also. But Glenda, this is not diabetes you're talking about, but the opposite (lack of sugar instead of too much). When I was little, I was visiting the hospital each week for testing, as I was fainting quite a bit (apparently - I can't remember that) and always complaining of being tired. At that time, early 60s, I guess they didn't quite have the nutritional information they have now (or at least not as well known). Anyhow, after many testing, they told my mum that my body wasn't making enough sugar, and that I suffered from the opposite of diabetes. Consequently, sugar became a (big) daily part of my diet (!). My teeth suffered badly. Then about 20 years ago I started learning about vitamins, and that if you crave sugar, you probably need more vitamin C. So I started taking vitamin C, and the cravings stopped!!! After this, chocolate became too sweet for me to eat, so obviously the vitamin C was doing something to correct my body. I have no idea about the significance of this, or how this works, all I know is that it worked for me! love, Lisa - keeper_of_the_home herbal remedies Friday, June 13, 2003 5:30 PM [herbal remedies] Low Blood sugar Does anyone know if low blood sugar is always associated with diabetes or not? I have for a few years had occassional bouts of low blood sugar. One time I fainted; and a couple of other times I got woozy. Food helped me feel better right away. Yet at other times I can go without eating much for a long time. Does anyone know what causes this problem; or how to clear it up completely. I am into eating mostly raw foods and juicing now. I still eat a bit of cooked food about 15-20% a day. I am feeling a bit better with this diet. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
