Guest guest
They're actually not negative. They just don't know and they won't acknowledge the fact that a change is needed. So I keep my distance and let my husband represent me. They're his family anyways, not mine! Thanks again, Doc! And guess what? She eats like S**T! So am suprised that she's back there on all those heavy meds? No, not at all. She's an extremely picky kid. In fact, I've never come across such a picky eater in my life. But she's indulged because the four adults who are raising her (two parents, two grandparents) are scared that she's going to starve to death. So she eats spaghetti with meat sauce, hot dogs and ketchup, cookies, cookies and more cookies, and loads of fruit, especially those little clementines in the middle of winter. I've sat down and tried to talk to her mother about going to see a nutrition consultant but she thinks I'm nuts. I don't even want to go see them in the hospital, I'm so disgusted by the way they let that kid make her own decisions about what she should eat. She has constant colds and mucuous and I have no idea how she's actually growing. I've spent entire days with the family in which she eats only a few bites of a hot dog and then is plugged with cookies and candies and ice cream. This, in my view, is NEGLIGENCE and if I thought in any way that anyone who looks out for the welfare of kids would be informed enough to see that this was tantamount to negligence then I'd be making a few, well-placed, anonymous phonecalls. Okay, no I wouldn't. That's extreme. But that's the way I feel right now. HOW CAN THESE PARENTS NOT SEE WHAT THEY ARE DOING TO THEIR KID???? Guest guest
Don, do NOT let the psychs see this post ROTFL. With diseases like "Rhinotelexomania" (the picking of one's nose) and "Allicinphobia" (the fear of garlic), both true psych diseases, they'd snap up your suggestion in a heart beat ;o) Love, Doc Doc Shillington505-772-5889Dr.IanShillington - Don Quai herbal remedies Sunday, June 01, 2003 10:40 AM Re: [herbal remedies] Rant and vent Most likely because they suffer from "Can't see the forest through the trees" syndrome. Hey Doc, I created a new dis-ease. Think we can sell the rights to the pharma-psyches?? Or they are just uneducated on what true nutrition really is. Guest guest
And my eyes are rolling right along with yours Erin. Diabetes is so simple to prevent, and not that difficult to cure (oops can't use that word), errrrrrrrr handle as well ;o) Love, Doc Doc Shillington505-772-5889Dr.IanShillington ROFL Diabates is one of the things that frustrates me the most! Any research can show it's preventable whether it runs "in the family" or not. Food your miracle medicine by Jean Carper (Harper?) shows this well. Anywhere you look into it...even the news now every once in awhile reports, "yes, diabetes can be prevented with diet from new ground-breaking studies!!!" But still people are like, it runs in the family (rolls eyes)Erin
