Guest guest
Hi, My son was also showing signs of ADHD. He is 6 years old in 1st grade. I started by looking at signs and discovered that he had a sensitivity to dairy products. When he would drink regular milk he would get dark circles under his eyes. I began doing research and found that dark circles are a link to a dairy sensitivity. I then found this group and discussed the issue more. First thing I would suggest doing is try removing dairy from his diet. I give my son Rice Milk and he really likes it. He now has learned to read food labels to see if it contains milk, whey, cheese, etc. I also try to limit the sugar as much as I can (and this can be hard sometimes). Also, behavior modification is very important. He has a great 1st grade teacher who does it in the classroom as well. He has to have guidelines and limits. For example: if my son gets ALL smiley faces in school he can stay up until 8:00, but if he gets even 1 sad face he has to go to bed at 7:30 (no exceptions). If he gets more sad faces then we go from there such as no bike riding, no scooter, etc etc. All the research and hard work has really paid off. My son has improved tremendously both academically and in his behavior. I wish you the best of luck in your research and hope this helps! Take Care Gina : )
