I have a serious black eye with blood in the white of my eye. I got it from one of the children I watch, long story. Anyway, I am wondering if anyone has any hints about how to help this. I have been putting arnica gel on the bruise and eating vitamin c rich food, and taking a zinc supplement to help the healing. What about the blood in the eye though? is there any way to make it go away faster? I put a cold washcloth on it a few times a day. This happened yesterday and it looks really bad. I walk around and it looks like I got beaten. Well I guess I kind of did. Anyway, please help! Any any any advice is appreciated so much! Guest guest
Hi soak a wash cloth in some witch hazel extract and do a compress. YOu may also want to add a drop or two of lavender or chamomile essential oil. Suzanne Nottmeier <suziesgoats wrote: Christie, Try some eyebright tincture...(in the files).. bilberry maybe... Guest guest
Hi Suzi Application of peanut oil, without getting it in your eye, can take away swelling and bruising. I think it's an old Edgar Cayce remedy. It does work. The sooner you put it on, the better it works. If it penetrates, apply more, and keep the area wet with the peanut oil. Hope you feel better. Guest guest
Essential oil Everlast aka Helichrysm is known to do wonders for bruises. It's a bit expensive, but it certainly is worth it. Guest guest
Oh, I also used an arnica cream on the bruise too, that really seemed to help.
