Guest guest
My sister walked into a ground wasp nest when she was little too. Ran all the way home but still had several stings. She was O.K. Normal redness and swelling at the site means there is no allergy to the sting, body has the right enzymes to take care of the venom. For them I give them an onion to take the venom and pain. Many think because it ot red or swollen at the site they do have an allergy but that is not correct. How nice of you to clarify. Honey bee's get the blame for so much. They are soooo unagressive cuz they die when they sting so for them to sting it would have to be life and death, where everyother wasp and bumble bee can sting repeatedly and are aggressive, sometimes very. I am a bee keeper, and although there are people who do step on, sit on or accidently squash a honey bee and get stung, they are far and few between. I can sit next to my hive with suntan lotion on and a tall glass of honey lemonade and they could care less about me. I do know people who are allergic to stings, but only 2 out of the 20 are actually allergic to honey bee's. When people say they are allergic to bee stings I ask them what king of " bee " , they normally say the yellow jacket, which isn't a bee at all. I keep lots of buffered powdered vitamin C on hand as it is a antihistamine, one of the best I know of and very, very fast, without the tiredness. A neighbor is allergic to honey bee stings and needs not only the epi shot to keep him alive he also needs the benadryl injection within 15 minutes of the epi-pin. I would be offering him all the buffered powdered C he wanted till we could get him to the er, to come against the allergic reaction. His father was a bee keeper with 300 colonies, all around their house when he grew up. He only has 5 hives going now and wants to sell it all to me now. Poor guy will never get away from the bee's. bt Onion isn't just good for bee stings, it will suck the pain out of a sprain or bad bump too. I wrap onion on an injured site with ace bandage and by morning, all better expect where the onion didn't actually touch the skin. They may smell like potatoe salad for the night, but it works.
