Guest guest
Erin, How are your cycles? Was there anything unusual with this one? I get that sort of heavy, "irritable" feeling my my uterus as well, but usually it's only a few days before my period starts. Maybe you did something to a muscle in there? I've completely forgotten what it's called but I went to my chiro and he did something to me to fix a similar sounding problem. I've blanked, though, because it's late here and I should be sleeping. When I remember what it was called I'll post. ILANA xoxo ErinJC23 wrote: This is hard to describe but all week I have been tired. This, of course, could be a coincidence. Guest guest
Hummmm, that's exactly how I have felt the last couple weeks. I thought I was getting something because I just felt like I'd worked a double or something...so very tired and a little irritable. Then, it hit me, my period was late and sure enough a pregnancy test showed positive. I'm just over a month, uterus can't be very big, but it feels like something heavier than usual down there. May not be it, but...that's truly how I felt. Angel All incoming and outgoing scanned with NAV for both our protection. This is hard to describe but all week I have been tired. Guest guest
I had that heavy feeling only once. Turns out I was just passing some junk from the colon clease I was on at the time. Isn't what it felt like at the time though, was a heavy type of feeling, and it didn't feel as though it was in my colon at all. I used to get those cramps alot inbetween cycles, don't get them any more and haven't for some time, seems calcium took care of it. It was when I ovulated. And when I was pregnant for the first month I had horrible cramps that my midwife said were completely normal. Due to the cysts popping on the ovaries which is what ovaries do. Ha! I get tired when I am fighting stuff, when I was directly exposed, and I get real tired when I don't drink enough water. The fact that you are so tired, and cramping and have the heavy feeling too, hmmmm, maybe we are gonna add another member to the board? bt > not gas, and nothing with the bowels as far as I can tell. Guest guest
Ovulation happens anywhere from 12 - 16 days (optimally) before your period BEGINS. It only happens 14 days after your period ends if you have a perfect 28 day cycle with ovulation on day 14. If you have a 35 days cycle you'll only ovulate around day 19. That's a misbelief that gets a lot of people into trouble! The 12 - 16 day period between ovulation and your period is called the luteal phase. A lot of women try to get pg assuming they ovulate on day 14 when it fact it could be a whole week (or even longer) after that. ILANA xoxo biblethumper38 wrote: This is a Jeopardy question isn't it? Guest guest
Erin, I used to have a spastic colon.. it would hurt in front on the left, down a bit from the naval to the left.. if that helps.. pain was a constant throbbing... usually built up stress caused it (and I would not always know I was stressed..) The colon was "knotting up" and I had to relax it... so besides cleansing the bowels... try some relaxant teas... maybe some "rubs" ... it has to relax to quit huring... if it is the colon. SuziErinJC23 wrote: LOL no jeopardy question - not smart enough to think of those types I am starting to think it may be something with the colon and the pain is just in front. Again, no diarrhea or anything but the feces smells bad. This may sound strange but before this week, on a normal basis my bowel movements have no odor that I can smell. A few years ago they did but now that my bowels are regular there doesnt seem to be a smell. This week there definitely is though. I dont feel constipated but maybe I do have toxins in there and havent went enough to get rid of them. I may try some herbal stimulants for my bowels later on this eveningThanks for all the advice!Erin Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Guest guest
Oh, btw, just thought I'd mention that I just figured out that aching that I thought was in my uterus is actually in my guts! It's gas but because the organs are so dang close together it's sometimes hard to differentiate between which is causing the pain. So not suprised that you're able to relate it to your bowels. I had the same experience. And I was actually SO happy to figure out that it was just gas (though have to work on why I'm getting so much gas) because the last thing I want to discover is that anything is wrong in my uterus. ILANA xoxo Ilana Grostern wrote: Erin, It's your business. You don't have to mention it! ILANA xoxo ErinJC23 wrote: Hummmm, been a hermit for the last couple months? Angel lol actually I have. I have been celibate for almost a year now. No sexual contact whatsoever - kissing, holding hands, anything. LOL - and yes, it KILLS me My first two girls were pill babies. I swear on it...I took those pills every night at the same time religiously. When I was on antibiotics or cough meds we used other things for two weeks just to be safe. Oh yes I personally think they lie about the effectiveness of the pill. Just the way it's supposed to work for one thing shouldnt make it as effective as they say and I have heard TOO many women speak of it. My mom got pregnant with me on the pill. When I was on the pill for 2 years when a teen I believe I had a miscarriage on it. As for discontinuiing it for 2 weeks, Ive always heard it was a month or even 2 months if you cut off the pill as in missing a dose, but you may be right on 2 weeks due to antibiotics. I know two women that have had tubes done. One had them cut and burned, one had them cut burned and tied. Both got pregnant. One was eptopic (sp?) and she had to have DnC, but never the less. That's a shame. I do believe that having the tubes tied is generally affective. I know a lot of women who never got pregnant this way. But of course it's always possible, so I feel for your friends. What happened to the one that wasn't ectopic? Im curious what happened, I thought it would have to be ectopic if her tubes were tied. And, believe it or not my reg MD told me that I was going through the change and would never get pregnant again just last year. I'm only 34 years old, but he was convinced that that was the only reason why my husband and I couldn't conceive. What bull! *shakes head* Some doctors...sheesh! No wonder we're herbalists Anyhow, didn't mean to be so windy...maybe it's just your body changing or something like that. No problem No offense taken at all, I probably should have mentioned the above beforehand but I didnt really think about elaborating, it was pretty late. Guest guest
You can only get pg when you are ovulating. You have about a five day window each month. Generally before you ovulate you have a warning in the way of changes in the cervical mucous. It goes from just pasty and crumbly to stickier, more stretchy, and clearer as you get closer to the big O (which no longer stands for orgasm, btw ). The last day of the really clear mucous, known as eggwhite (which can last for a few days before), is usually when you ovulate. So long as you have that stretchy stuff you are considered fertile, as it has the ability to nourish sperm for up to five days, which is said to be the lifespan of a sperm. Once ovulation occurs, you only have about 6 hours left before the egg starts to break down. By the time you get your period there has been no egg there for a good two weeks so you cannot get pg. You can get pg DURING your period if you happen to ovulate then, but not before. Your period comes because there is a swift drop in progesterone levels. It comes because your body knows that it is not pg and gives your uterus the signal to shed the uterine lining so it can rebuild for the next cycle. Most women actually have no clue when they get pg. Unless you know exactly when you ovulate it's sort of hard to tell, the reason for this being that the egg gets fertilized at ovulation, but it might not implant in the uterine lining until a week to ten days later. Also, the egg can get fertilized but not implant, and produce pregnancy symptoms until the period comes. THis is known as a chemical pregnancy. What you are talking about is the Shettles method of sex selection. It's not accurate and it's not proven. The theory is that while the Y chromosome spern (those that are responsible for boys) is much faster than the X, they also don't have enough stamina. If you have sex the day of ovulation or a day before, the chances are that the boy sperm will get to the egg quicker and fertilize it, thereby producing a boy. If you have sex three to five days BEFORE ovulation then chances are the boy sperm will run out of steam, and the slow and steady girls will win the race. As for the kelp, acv theory, I imagine there is some sort of truth in that, but couldn't say if and how it works or if it was just coincidence in your case and the case of your mom. If anyone wants more info about FAM (fertility awareness method) of birth control, I strongly recommend Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler. It's all in there and it will teach you all about your cycle and the very complicated process of ovulation. ILANA xoxo biblethumper38 wrote: O.K. mine is 14 days. Actually you can get pregnant during ovulation OR the day before or first day of your period. Not knowing that can hinder those trying, or be the biggest reason for error in natural birth control. Conceiving during ovulation makes the chances much higher for a boy and conceiving the day before or first day of your period brings the percentage rate much higher for a girl. Then if ya want to pick the sex of your baby, you can go one step further and either consume raw apple cider vinegar if you want a girl or kelp if you want a boy. I of course wanted a girl, and got one. My mom had no clue she would have a higher chance having girls this way, she only knew she would conceive the day before her period so she used this method and ended up with (disappointing to my dad) three girls. She snuck the last one in, he wanted no more and he thought she was safe at that time. :/ And a friends daughter had her tubes tied and still had a baby. She was preggo when they tied the tubes. Most all of my friends got preggo on the pill. I trust the natural method myself. bt herbal remedies , Ilana Grostern <ilana@c...> wrote: > Ovulation happens anywhere from 12 - 16 days (optimally) before your > period BEGINS.
