You could try having him stick his finger or whole hand in a bowl of ice with some water in it. I have seen lots of pain relieved just by doing this simple thing. Seems the cold just draws it out. Gotta keep it in there though for quite some time. Or try alternating hot and cold. You might also consider the Total Draw poultice for any infection that might be harboring in there. Then too, it could just be psychosomatic. We always tend to favor that which is hurting, or has been hurt. At least for a while.

[herbal remedies] Help....

I'm begging anyone that knows....

Yall know about Wayne's finger...

Well, he got the stitches out Monday...

He has been working since last Thursday....(he's a mechanic, no light duty possible)

Every time I ask him to do something around the house he complains about his finger being tender.

I can understand that, but do you know of anything that will work the tenderness out sooner?

This is not like him to baby anything. And, I'm talking about the same man that goes to work when that disc slips in his back. Crooked walk and all.

Thanks so much...don't know what I ever done without yall.

Hey try putting lavender essential oil directly on itl. It is so healing. Or make a paste with aloe gel and lavender. He will be healed in no time!Anjeweleyes <anjewelhaze wrote:

Re: [herbal remedies] Help....

Well,

I guess I will just have to try the hot and cold...

What do you think about putting some Epsom salt in it? Wouldn't that draw out the soreness?

I ripped my pinky fingernail off while washing a car once and I was told to soak it in hot salt water. It hurt soooo bad, that I tried it. After I peed my pants from the stinging, it did toughen it up enough to where I could use it until the nail grew back.

Wayne has a heap more tolerance to pain than I do, so maybe he might be willing to try it.

But, I want to know can the Epsom salt cause any kind of infection or negative anything besides the initial stinging pain?

Not trying to torture him, really, he's been a very good sport about his finger (I'd still be screaming), but I know first hand that the salt thing really does work for getting the soreness out.

Thanks,

Angel
