Yes, the coffee has a major effect on Gout. Gout is a result of an excess of uric acid, which coffee has been closely tied too.

Hello,

I have been "lurking" in the background for a week or two now, have found all that is discussed here extremely interesting.

I have gathered up enough courage to place a question. Here goes... A little background info is that I had hepatitis about six years ago. I recovered, according to my doctor, a hundred percent :-) However I have gradually began to suspect that perhaps it was not as the doctor had diagnosed.

Since then I have suffered from gout and have recently started following as close as possible a gout friendly diet, hence low in purines. At present I also take a celery seed pill in the morning and allopurine (Not sure on the spelling here), I only experience a constantly present pain in my right wrist. But what I don't understand is why?

Ok, a little about my diet. I try to avoid red meat, keeping mainly to chicken and fish. I avoid mushrooms, large helpings of green beans etc.

A little about my weight, I am a six foot white South African male and weigh 130KG (about 286 pounds, I think). I have lost 10KG since I have made the decision to "healthy" up.

Can I expect this problem to go away if I loose more weight? Does coffee have an effect on gout? ( I drink between 4-8 mugs a day) I see in one of the documents on this groups document library, that I should avoid sugar, does this have an effect? Any suggestions/suggested treatments will be gladly received.

The Gout Formula: 1/4 oz skullcap 1/4 oz valerian root 1/2 oz yarrow flowers 1/2 oz nettlesFix in non-aluminum pan.2 tsp. per 8 oz. water, steep 5 minutes. Take 4x per day. Use NO SWEETENER whatsoever.No meats, sweets, legumes or alcoholic beverages. Drink lots of water and juice.Also -- charcoal 1 tsp. 4x per day until attack is over.

Well now that depends on whether you are using raw sugar or refined sugar. Refined sugar has absolutely no nutritive value what-so-ever. Better off using raw sugar that has not been refined or use molasses, raw honey or stevia. Alot of medical problems can be attributed to the use of refined sugar.

Hi Denham,

 

Sounds like you are well on your way to some serious kidney problems. I understand your needing to burn the candle at both ends so to speak, but there are much better ways of doing it. The amount of coffee you are drinking is overloading your adrenals big time. I would strongly suggest that you quit the coffee, period!!!!! If you have to have caffeine then take one cup of green organic tea per day. NO MORE!!! You are currently on the caffeine rollercoaster that goes only downhill and pretty dang quickly. I would suggest you start using ginger to stimulate your adrenals before they shut down completely from exhaustion. Garlic and cayenne as well. Then consider taking B vitamin supplements to help build your energy back up. Stay away from any kind of meat and fish. Eat lots of fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables. Drink no cocoa or soda pops. Do avail yourself of a juicer, if possible, and begin drinking parsley juice, carrot juice or apple juice (preferrable fresh organic fruits and vegetables). Parsley tea will help with your kidneys as will the parsley juice. Uva Ursi or corn silk teas will assist your kidneys as well. Eat no refined sugar or processed dead, devitalized foods. You need to seriously cleanse your body. Fresh celery and celery seed are very good for gout too. Stay away from dairy products, as well. Get plenty of exercise and sunshine. Also the Panther Piss formula in the files will give you much in the way of minerals and help to balance the acid/alkalinity of your body.

Hi Denham,

 

Contrary to popular belief you can get all the protein you need from the fruits and vegetables that you eat. This whole idea of having to ingest protein in order to survive is pretty much fostered by the dairy councils, pig councils, chicken and turkey councils, fish councils and any other kind of council that suggests eating dead critters. The human body does not need to ingest dead flesh in order to extract the protein it needs. Your body is perfectly capable of making all the protein it needs from the amino acids you take in. Yes, eggs are a good source of protein but I would suggest you use organic eggs and raw at that. One extra question if I may, what do I do for protein? Peanuts(real peanut butter), nuts, egg whites?

Yes your right about the

choices. I have come to see that many of mine have been, well... uneducated.

I found this group by accident

and joined on the spur of the moment. Since that fateful day, I have come

to see that there are other choices out there and not the vicious cycle

of the mainstream medical practices. I mean by that... if my gout problem

is due to adrenal deterioration, then normal medication is compounding the

issue i.e. anti-inflammatory etc cause so much more work for the kidneys

etc.

The trick will be trying to find herd suppliers

here in South Africa Pretoria. I have been reading some of the articles

and documents on the groups library and have no idea what most of the herbs

mentioned are. Anyway that's what research is for right?

I believe sugar like coffee is bad for gout... anyway it's not good for you in general..
