I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in private practice for the last eleven years. There is no research to prove that garlic in breastfeeding mothers is distressful for infants. In fact, one study suggests that infants breastfeed longer and more efficiently after mother has ingested garlic and onions. Kathy Parkes, RN, IBCLC, RLC The Lactation Connection Inc.
