Guest guest
Piperonal is a flavoring agent (also called heliotropine and other things). Piperonyl butoxide, which is in lice shampoos, is a bug killer. There is also piperazine, a chemical used for deworming farm animals. I use it on my chickens. http://www.chemicalland21.com/arokorhi/lifescience/foco/HELIOTROPINE.htm The other chemicals may need further checking too. IMHO of course. Thanks, Christine
Guest guest
Shelly... I like Rice Dream - it's great and comes in several flavors. They also make a frozen Rice Dream bar. I don't know how many vegetarians or vegans are on the list. I only recently joined.. Jan ~Shell~ wrote: Ingredients in ice cream: * Diethyl glycol - a cheap chemical used as an emulsifier instead of eggs. This is the same chemical used in antifreeze and paint remover. * Piperonal - used in place of vanilla. This chemical is used to kill lice. * Aldehyde C18 - an inflammable flavoring agent that is also used in anilene dyes, plastic and rubber. * Ethyl acetate - a flavoring agent that is used as a cleaner for leather and textiles. Its vapors have been known to cause chronic lung, liver and heart damage. * Butyraldehyde - used in nut-flavored ice cream. It is one of the ingredients in rubber cement. Yuck. Makes me glad I'm a vegan. Jan ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Gross is right! I had no idea.... so what do you all have to replace it? Are most people in here vegetarians/vegans?
