Guest guest
Hi Suzi, shin splints cause LOTS of pain, not much swelling. My DS really pushes himself when he is in class. He has huge goals for when he gets out of High school... The shin splints are cracks in the bone (from what I understand). I made up a concoction of something like the Goldenseal/Comfrey salve. Didn't have goldenseal, so I used tea tree, grapefruit seed extract, aloe, Vit E, comfrey leaf and root and a few other things. I can't believe I left out Cayenne, it is my favorite for everything! Thank you for helping me out here. Patty I'm confused... Don't shin splints cause inflamation and pain? Wouldn't something like Deep Tissue oil be better ? Here is the salve in the member contribution files.. If it were me, I would add cayenne and arnica to this... I'll see if I can find another recipe in my books and get back to you tonite. Suzi Goldenseal/Comfrey Salve: 1 cup olive oil 1/2 oz. powdered comfrey root 1/2 oz. powdered goldenseal root 1 oz. beeswax 3 vitamin E gelcaps - 400 IU each (or equivalent liquid E)

Place in 200 degree oven for 3 hours. Strain through cheesecloth. Put back into pot and heat. Add beeswax and heat until melted over low heat. Do not allow the wax to burn. Puncture the gelcaps and squeeze the contents into the mixture. Pour into glass container(s). When it cools, it should be a light green color and is ready to use. It has been used successfully in treating all kinds of things such as acne, insect bites, cuts, bruises, fever blisters, chapped lips, and the list goes on. Guest guest
I think I would be doing lemon egg for calcium, plus maybe some BF & C....
