Guest guest
Lisa, Sounds like an allergic reaction...see what ingredients are in the shampoos that cause it and are not in the ones that don't.....or try dabs of the shampoo on your arm or wrist.... Somewhere in my memory it seems i recall a recipe for egg whites as a conditioner for the hair.. makes the hair soft and shiny... I'll have to do some research and see if I can find it.SuziLisa Belcher <lisabelcher wrote: Hi Suzi, I just looked (thanks for the suggestion), and saw two dandruff items. But I'm not sure if it's dandruff?? How can I tell? The itchiness I think is a result of an allergy to something in shampoos - I only get it with some and it goes away when I discontinue that shampoo. The flaky scalp is all the time (with or without itch). Some hairdresser once told me it didn't look like dandruff, just flaky skin. Guest guest
Hello, I am a stylist and see this a lot. What works is use Joico Biojoba Shampoo (not all natural but high quality mild ingredients-if you want ALL natural use Aubrey Organics Blue Chamomile Shampoo get it at health food store) and pick up a little bottle of pure jojoba oil by NOW Foods (health food store) Massage the jojoba oil into your scalp at night and wash it out in the morning. This takes care of every one I have had use it and I really reccomend the Biojoba shampoo(get it at salons or sometimes drug stores) it is really excellent. Let me know how it goes. Guest guest
What is Borax? borax is a water softener, among other things. Some people dont like it thinking it may have health risks - I dont agree; it is used in many natural products. I think it's fine to use and have no problem with it. It is a white powder. There are many places to buy it, but I got mine from nature with love Erin
Guest guest
Hi Suzi, I thought it was the chemicals in the shampoos that caused this reaction. But the all chemical free shampoo I use now is causing the itch again, so it's not the chemicals! Ingredients of this shampoo are: nettle, chamomile, shavegrass, clay minerals, linden flower, lavender, orange, rose geranium, ylang ylang, clove bud. I suspect it may be the nettle that is reacting. I seem to recall having had same reaction with a nettle shampoo some years ago.
