I have been battling breast cancer for the last couple of years alternatively. I am only 33 years old, and when I had a lumpectomy two years ago they told me the tumor was both estrogen and progesterone positive. They told me I needed a mastectomy, chemo, radiation, tamoxifen etc. I declined all of that and have been feeling pretty good, with the exception of the lumps that grew back around the original tumor site...I still have those and I need them gone. I have heard that Pau D' Arco is a great cancer fighting herb, and I have used it for candida in the past with some success. My question is it is supposed to be a natural form of estrogen, correct? The reason I haven't tried this yet as a treatment for my breast is the hormone receptor test that came back positive. Does anyone know how this would then affect me? Thank You! However, at least one isolated phytochemical in pau darco (lapachol) has demonstrated abortifacient properties in animal studies. As there are no studies confirming the safety of traditional bark decoctions used by pregnant women (nor is there indication in traditional medicine systems using this plant during pregnancy), the use of pau darco during pregnancy is not recommended. Guest guest Posted April 12, 2003 Report Share Posted April 12, 2003 Darla, I don't know about Paul D'arco but if it were me I would be on ESSIAC - full dosages... it works wonders on cancer... even if you are taking chemo... it is also good for tumors...and many other things. there are many sources on the net... if you want the formula let me know I'll email it to you.
