Hello Rachel,

My son had the same problem, until we started sprouting his grains, nuts, seeds and beans prior to using/cooking and stopped all unsprouted (prepared) foods. Since then his BM is fine :-) And once you get used to doing it, it really doesn't take that much extra time. The only problem I have with it sometimes is remembering at night to put the items in the water which I will need for the next day's food. And it's harder to be spontaneous with cooking/eating as you need to plan ahead with sprouting.

and also the article How To Sprout in the same area of the files. The first file tells you why, the second tells you how.

My grocery bill seems to keep going up and up all the time, so I know what you mean - and I'm a solo mum also so on a tighter budget than most. But I decided my son just HAD to be on an organic diet, and I would just have to handle it so that this would be possible. It's taken about a year now, and Jamie is fully organic. The second task was for myself to go totally organic - as I don't always eat the same as Jamie, this was a separate issue. And I'm nearly there now. I just did it, and cut out other non-vital things in the shopping - and this is definitely possible if one really wants to do this LOL. I just decided that our health was more important than anything. And the more I learn about non-organic food, the less I eat of it - just thinking of all those hormones, anti-biotics, and other such crap they put in food, just totally puts me off that food, so it's getting easier to ensure all our intake is organic :-)

love,

Lisa

[herbal remedies] Children and Peppers

HiMy son is 3 years old, and i am a little worried that he doesn't seem tohave frequent Bowel Movements. He is currently going through his "faddy food" phase (he eats only certainthings and usually its different every day), so I am not sure if it is justthat he doesn't need to or what.I had heard that BM's should be more frequent than his (he has maybe one ortwo a week right now) and he used to have them more ferquently. Can anybodyhelp with this one? Thanks! Also, re the peppers. Is the powdered cayenne any good? We have lots ofthat! In fact I have a nice recipe for hot cheesy wafers with pepper in,but am not sure if anyone would want it *G* can you tell I am new here?!Also, I am wondering how to begin going organic. I dont want to spend awhole lot more on our grocery bills (which are excessive IMHO). How shouldI start? And as for the vegan diet and the cleanse... I would have no ideawhat to eat! And I think my husband would revolt against the whole thing. He wont eat pasta, rice, mushrooms, green vegetables (although he lovesbeans), fruit... he does like herbs and garlic, but not onions. He lovesspicy foods but hates tomatoes (unfortunately he had a mother that forcedhim to eat them). What can I do with someone like this???Thank you for listening to a humble, ignorant newbie. I hope you can helpme:)Rachel

How much does he drink? Is he dehydrated? We converted over last summer and are still removing a few last items from our diet. What I found worked best w/ my James is offering him 2 or 3 things he could eat for each meal. All of them were healthy. I started w/ healthy alternatives to old favorites, like I made PB from organic raw peanuts and switched jelly to an organic jam and swithced bread. We are completely off of pb & j now. Little things like that helped a lot. As to the cost there are a few factors, first we rarely eat out now. Second I make everything we eat, so nothing is purchased prepared. Then there are no dr bills or rxs to pay for anymore. He isn't "drugged" up all the time. And most importantly my son is healthy, finally. To me there isn't a price that can be placed on that, this is coming from a single mom who made about 10k last year. I think if I can do it about anyone can. LOL, I'll get off my box now.
