There is no problem with adding Tumeric to Total Tonic, and the benefits would be numerous. Just remember, that for every ingredient you add, you water down the rest.

Even better would be to add Black Walnut Hulls. This would increase the natural Iodine content.

RE: [herbal remedies] Michael's morning regiment - Hey Doc

Hmmmm... hey Doc..what do you think about adding tumeric to Total Tonic??? any additional benefits??? I've read alot on tumeric... now I have this "great" idea.. hehehe... give me your thoughts.. Always thinking, Suzi Michael <mwood wrote:

First thing every morning I take one or two cloves of garlic, chop them into small pieces, and take a spoon full with a glass of water. This is followed by the cayenne-again in a spoon, some turmeric in a spoon, and a nice slice of ginger root to chew on. Then brush the teeth. The ginger helps a bit with the garlic; but the truth is that it is exhaled in ones breath. Folks probably think I smell like garlic. Oh well. My belief is that the raw garlic is far more potent than processed garlic. And its kept me healthy for quite some time.

If you had a tincture of 100% garlic, and took one dropperful of that tincture, you'd be getting 100% of the benefits of garlic. If you had a tincture that was 50% garlic, and 50% Cayenne and took one dropperful of that tincture, you'd only be getting 50% of the benefits from the garlic in that dropperful whereas you'd be getting 100% in the first tincture. Get the idea. For every ingredient you add, you cut the proportion of all the others.

Not that this is bad necessarily, as you might want the benefits of all combined ;o)

Total Tonic as it stands has enough ingredients in it. If you were to add more ingredients, the individual efficacy of each herb would be lessened by that amount, but may possibly contribute to a larger whole with a good formula.

I've thought about this long and hard.

If I was going to add just one more ingredient to TT, that ingredient would be Black Walnut Hulls. This would make Total Tonic a complete - Anti-Plague Formula as well as all the other benefits. ;o)

Love,

Doc

PS. Tumeric is a great herb, but I'm not convinced that by adding it to the TT, that the lessening of the other herbs would be made up by the benefits added by including the Tumeric. I am convinced that Black Walnut Hulls would only improve the overall formula. Hope this helps.

Doc, What do you mean water down the rest...the total tonic would not be as potent?? You say adding would add benefits... so please explain... (you lost me somewhere) Suzi "Dr. Ian Shillington" <Dr.IanShillington wrote:

Dear Fern,

You could do it one of two ways. You could just add the hulls (yes, this is the outer hull not the shell), to your mixer when blending or tincture it separately with alcohol and then add to the mixture. I'd be tempted to just throw 'em in with the rest and just blend for a little while longer, and perk for a little while longer = maybe a month.

Love,

Doc

PS. Glad you enjoy the list ;o)

PPS. I'm not familiar with BRT so you'll have to go into greater detail before I could evaluate it.

Hello Doc,Coming out of lurkdom here to ask a question. :) I'm so much enjoyingthis list and am absorbing a lot of good info. Thanks for providingthis resource and thanks, too, for the tape of your lecture, whichI've listened to several times and believe is right on.I've been making and using TT since I joined this list, and havegotten my father to use it regularly also, which I attribute to hisgood health this winter, in contrast to the several weeks of flu-likesymptoms he had in previous winters.I was wondering how you would go about adding the Black Walnut hullsto TT -- just put it in the blender with the rest? I take it you meanthe softer outer shell of the walnut, as opposed to the very hardshell surrounding the meat of the nut?I am hypothyroid, and am interested in adding the Black Walnut to helpboost my thyroid. I'm addressing that problem now with a supplementcalled "Thyrostim" put out by Biotics Research, which my chiropractor, who has been taking me thru a series of BRT (Body RestorationTechnique) has given me.I'm also interested in knowing what you think of BRT.Thanks,Fern
