Guest guest
Michael, My TOP HAT off to you! Many times people don't take their lives into their own hands... My parents both have high blood pressure.. as did my grandparents... I vowed "NOT ME"... and at almost 50 don't have it... Partially diet , alot Mind Over Matter... what you believe - you are.. Works for me. And yes, I know what works for one may not work for another... went thru that with my father and his BP... trying different herbs and combos till one finally worked. But sometimes old ways are hard to break with parents...But I work on mine all the time... sometimes winning too... I have a philosophy, i don't want to get to Heaven's gate and have God say to me...."you're not supposed to be here yet... if you had only tried this or that... so it is the IF ONLY that i live by... If only I tried this herb or that herb or this remedy or that... very open mind.... i hope i did not offend you... i was reading your response and got tickled as i could see me 'breathing fire' with everything coming up...lol... i like hot stuff but can only handle small amounts at a time... (hehe my goal to eat a whole pepper at one time...) Suzi Michael <mwood wrote: Well the things I use may not work for others. But years ago I watched family members who had faith in scientific medicine undergo various tortures at the hands of these folks, to no good end, and came to the conclusion –my personal opinion- that what they had to offer was “treatment” and that to justify “billing”; but at best little of this medicine was actually helping anyone. Certainly those folks in my family who relied on the doctors and the “state of the art” medicine are all dead now. Having heard from one of these doctors when I was in my mid twenties the “doomed speech”- i.e. that I had the genetics for coronary artery disease and couldn’t change that; and that I could expect the same course of illness and treatment. I decided that rather than heart attacks and bypass surgery in my 30s- the norm in my family- it made more sense to work at preventing the disease from actualizing in the first place. At close to 50 I have had no heart attacks, and certainly no surgery, and do not rely on their failed tactics to live; and I continue to feel quite well. But one of the principles I adopted was that no matter the taste or discomfort (within reason of course) of some remedies, IF they actually work, and if I benefited from their use, then a “grin and bear it” attitude had to be a part of it all. Things that initially were hard such as diet changes from the typical American meat, salt, and grease diet to a largely vegetarian diet became bearable with this in mind. Now I find greasy fast food and meat dishes tolerable but I really don’t even like them anymore, and don’t eat them. Some things like the peppers were an acquired taste along the way- extremely good salt substitutes in the beginning, along with lemon, garlic, ginger, and other “medicinal spices.” After a while the substitutes became the preferred items. Guest guest
OK, total tonic would be good to take - several dropperfuls every 3-4 hours.. (you can take it in a swallow of apple juice if you can't take it straight)... also, deep tissue oil on the chest would be helpful. Also, here is a remedy from the member contributions file Congestion Tea: 1-1/2 teaspoon dried sage 1- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme 1/2 teaspoon dried ginger or 1 slice fresh ginger rootMake two 8oz. cups of tea. Pour boiling water over sage, thyme, and ginger. Steep 10 minutes, sweeten and drink four times a day. Also, check out the other formulas in the member contributions files, there are cough remedies, chest rubs, etc.... Another would be Herbal Snuff... good stuff... will bring tears to your eyes but works. Suzi yezterdayzdreamz <yezterdayzdreamz wrote: Thanks suzi, I'll be waiting expectantly to hear from you. I was unsure if the email even went thru, my browser decided to crash mid-send. As for the peppers, I agree with suzi, I'd be puking everything up LOL I'd rather avoid puking if I can, I'm not fond of the flavors involved. I found myself a few mornings ago, throwing up mucus that had gotten into my stomach. So my question is, how do I best get rid of this whole mess in my system? I'm assuming I have to get rid of the mucus to get rid of the cough (least, that's logical). Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Natural methods can sometimes backfire. 2. Guest guest
If I remember correctly, Dr. Christopher drank glasses of distilled water with cayenne powder in them throughout the day. Read that in the online bio on him. I'm still in cayenne training... Tabasco sauce is the closest I could find around here. I use it LIBERALLY. It seldom bites too hard now (at half a VERY LARGE bottle gone). I find it odd that there are times I find myself craving the heat... I think it's all Dragon Don's fault cuz he made me do it. ----One fourth of what you eat keeps you alive. The rest keeps your doctor alive. - Suzanne Nottmeier herbal remedies Wednesday, March 12, 2003 5:30 PM RE: [herbal remedies] cough and crap Excuse me Michael as i ROFL... if i did that it would definitely loosen the junk from the lungs, esophagus, stomach... i'd be throwing it all back up....lol...a whole hot pepper would be more than i could take in one bite... but I'm working on it... you must be related to Don..... the pepper king.... Guest guest
Mullein might help with that cough and phlegm. Capsules are easy to swallow for most people. If you lack a capsule-filler gadget, mullein capsules can be obtained at a health food store. A good thing about mullein is that is works right away - usually within a few minutes, and can be used throughout the day and night with no toxicity.
