Guest guest
So it is an altered form of an amino acid? Can't you get it from food and have your own body "activate" it? I would think correcting the underlying problem in the body would be better and safer than using a "magic bullet" like this. SAM-e came close to saving my life in 1999 and my rheumatologist is the one who recommended it for me. For years I've paid $22.00 for 60 200mg tabs. The only side effect I experienced was mild nausea for a day or two every time the dose was increased...... a very small price to pay for so very much improvement in overall well being and function level. SAM-e is the activated form of the amino acid l-Methionine. Research has shown that it is not only effective for clinical depression but also for arthritis and liver damage.mjh Thought you should be aware of this "Sam-e" stuff What is SAM-e?SAM-e is short for S-adenosylmethionine, an essential molecule naturally occurring in the cells of plants and animals. SAM-e is not an herb. As we age, our bodies produce less SAM-e, so some think that SAM-e may be a helpful supplement when used to treat depressive symptoms. It has been available in European countries through prescription.<SNIP>
