Guest guest
What can be used to unclog the arteries? Is there something that will remove or melt whatever could be clogging the heart arteries? I know that garlic is good to take, but how much how often? I also have a full gallbladder, and the cleanses help, but havent yet passed the " biggie " . It has been said perhaps i need to take ACV for a short time before flushing. Please...someone...I need some real advice here. Dr wants to do surgery for the gallbladder. I want to keep it. Guest guest
Please do not take niacin dosages greater than 100 mg. daily without talking to someone who knows what he's doing first. It very will can result in some pretty extreme discomfort if taken at levels of 200-500mgs 3 times a day per one of the e-mails here. it won't kill you (?) but it may make u wish u were dead. 100 mgs per day is really quite enough unless you are on some special program with supervision - and i don't necessarily mean MD supervision as they generally don't know much about it and too often what they do know is ill-informed. Guest guest
Re: the niacin. I'm of course glad that it worked for you. Different people have different reactions to niacin and I've had people be totaled scared to death (just an expression-they didn't actually die) to almost feinting to the itchy, burning sensation. lots of different reactions-niacin is good, don't get me wrong. It's just quite alarming s/times to the person taking it & not expecting what results. Best, Bob P.

Guest guest
Yes niacin can cause a flushing reaction. My MD whom fortunately will work with me on taking more natural meds. and will not push pharmaceuticals on me suggested that to lower cholesterol try taking 100mg of niacin daily for 2 weeks - then increasing it to 2x daily for 2 weeks and then slowly increasing every 2 weeks until a total of 400 - 500 mg were taken daily for 3 months and then decreasing again slowly until a maintenance dosage of 200mg per day was taken. I have been doing this for over 2 years now and my cholesterol has never been better. He also suggested taking cayenne daily. I take mine together in the mornings but when first starting out I would not recommend taking cayenne and niacin at the same time of day. Guest guest
Just a comment… I had gone to see a physician about 15 years ago. I was having problems with hypertension, and my cholesterol was 310. With the approval of the physician I began taking 500mg Niacin TID for six weeks and following a reasonable diet -high fiber, low fat. (These dosage levels were actually lower than prior successful studies in which individuals received far higher doses.) When I returned for a follow-up visit and was checked again, my cholesterol was 167. It made a believer out of me. Of course one needs to make sure that his liver is in good shape-but then again what are the effects of most of the anticholesteral drugs put out by pharmaceutical companies at forty times the cost? And the side effect most often cited is flushing. Yes, the burning fire lasts for about 15 minutes. But I always considered it a minor inconvenience…compared to the pain of bypass surgery which many of my family have undergone. It is a very cheap preventive measure in my opinion, and the inconvenience of a few minutes of flushing is easily borne, when I bear in mind the alternatives. Guest guest
My understanding is that clogged arteries are caused by damage to the inner wall of the artery and then the cholesterol grabs on to the rough surface. So getting good food and vitamins would be a good way to help. Probably the best place to start is a cleanse so your body can focus on healing. Have you used Doc's gallbadder cleanse yet? Guest guest
~~~ This catalog I use (don't know if I'm allowed to name it so I'll skip that) offers something they call flush-free niacin that comes with inositol, whatever that is. Again, I don't know how well it works, but it claims to be flush-free. ~~ rbpj wrote: Re: the niacin. I'm of course glad that it worked for you. Guest guest
~~~ Another thing is to make sure your teeth are in good shape. That might sound funny, but I read this on a dentist's wall a couple years back, and have since read it again. Problems with the teeth, ie decay and abscess, can harbor the bacteria that can cause inflammation in the arteries, that leads to those rough surfaces, the plaque grabbing on, clogs and sometimes heart attacks.~~ doodle bug <doodlebugboodles wrote: My understanding is that clogged arteries are caused by damage to the inner wall of the artery and then the cholesterol grabs on to the rough surface. Guest guest
Yes, Niacin is one of those vites that should be used intelligently, and on a gradient scale. It should also be taken with other vitamins (B-Complex etc. etc.), and as part of a program rather than taken alone. 100 Mg should be safe for just about any adult (25 to 50 Mg for a child depending on body weight), but more than that can turn on a full blown detox and cause one to go into a healing crisis. Sure it won't kill you, even if you take more (500 to a 1000Mg), (It'd take about 90 grains to kill an adult). But why get sick if you don't have to??? You'd have to be somewhat masochistic ;o) to just jump in there with 500 Mg without having done any prior cleansing or any additional supplementation. Best is to be on a known program with a proven track record, or be getting advice from a Naturopath (forget the MD) who's got experience with this vitamin. Niacin is the Vitamin B3 to use. Niacinamide is JUNK!!!!! The difference is that Niacin is the acid form of the vitamin and assimilates very quickly. Niacinamide is the salt form and hardly assimilates at all = a waste of your money. Niacin is supposed to make you flush. This is one of its byproducts when toxins and radiation are being released from your body. It is a brilliant vitamin when used correctly. If you're going to use this vitamin on your own, don't use more than 100 Mg. Guest guest
I havent used Doc's cleanse but I just finished The Tiao He Cleanse. It is designed to support the cleansing mechanisms of the body by targeting the intestinal, digestive and circulatory systems. Each packet contains 1 capsule each of Chinese Liver Balance (formerly LIV-C, digestive support), All Cell Detox (formerly Special Formula #1), LBS II® (intestinal support), Psyllium Hulls (bulking agent), Burdock Root (circulatory system) and Black Walnut Hulls (digestive system). I didnt use the brand name for fear of being " toasted " . It has helped me quite a bit. However with this gallbladder thing I find I am not digesting much these days. If I take alot of capsules they like stick in my stomach. I drink 8 + glasses of water a day. I am so discouraged. I dont know whether to deal with the gallbladder first, or the digestive thing or what. My Dr is no help. Also I take Glucontrol for diabetes. What a mess! I try to deal with one thing at a time and hope to God it is the right one to start with.
