Guest guest
Instead of Gatorade, get some colloidal minerals. They come in a quart bottle and in flavors. This is really a good thing to take if you have diarrhea as it will replace lost minerals. Also drink plenty of water. The minerals range in price from $10 to $20 depending on where you get them. Chris (NC) Gatorade is full of refined sugar and would make things worse. Janet Lisa You do not mention how old your son is......... make sure you give him Gatorade or the equivalent as dehydration would be a real concern. If it were my child, I would touch base with his physician.mjh However, it's been 5 days now, and his bowel movement is still very watery, and seems to cause him discomfort. He didn't eat very much the first few days, but since Saturday evening has been ravishing his food, so his appetite seems to be returned. I just figured that since he'd been taking the remedies, there was no way it could be an infection. Lisa,
Guest guest
Be carefull on over doing it with foods and especially liquids. In his case he should be eatting warm, thick soups. Drinking LOTS of water is not good because it is hard for the small intestine to take in all of that water therefore is causes more D, which causes him even less food absorbtion. This doesnt mean no water, it just means be carefull how much. Thick soups and thick liqiuds move through the small intestine much slower allowing for maxium absorbtion while being in the easiest to absorb state. Guest guest
That's the trouble with Jamie - he just won't drink water. He'll only drink fruit juices (which I water down considerably). He gets a daily supplement of vitamins and minerals already. Thanks Chris :-) Lisa - C.A.Spence herbal remedies Tuesday, March 04, 2003 12:46 PM Re: [herbal remedies] Gatorade Instead of Gatorade, get some colloidal minerals. Guest guest
I am concerned about the juice, but I have cut down the orange juice, and try using mostly apple juice. I am also watering it down a lot more than normal. I have tried other drinks, but he just won't drink anything else, so in order to ensure sufficient fluid intake, I've had to give him juice. He's actually doing better now, so must be doing something right!
