Regards Rochelle I don't give any dosage to anybody because I am not a therapist :-) Sorry. I did take Ephedra in a diet pill form a few years ago, but did not realize it was Ephedra I had been taking until I saw on tv that the Chinese name for Ephedra is Ma Huang. It sounds like Kathe has had some experience with taking the herb for asthma, but nobody has suggested a recommended a dose so far as I know. I remember when I took those diet pills it recommended not taking more than 6 a day, but I do not remember if it indicated what "dosage" of ephedra was in those six daily allowed capsules... Maybe somebody else knows more about this than I do ... :-] Peace, Cathie
Guest guest
Hi Cathie, Ephedra is a great herb, but not everyone can take it , just like anything else. My DH uses it to control a cough that he has from an asthma like condition. It has been wonderful! It is by far the best remedy we have ever used for cough. Also, I came across some bug a while back, where my throat was very swollen. I took some Ephedra, and completely opened my airway. People with High BP or glacoma are not suppose to use it, mainly because IT DOES raise your blood pressure. Kathe
Guest guest
I also took it in some diet pills and now there is a Class Action suit because of it (I just received a postcard in the mail last week). After I took the product with Ephedra, I realized that it was not for me and switched to an Ephedra-free product (which they then eleminated). (I lost 25 pounds doing a different diet althoghter, without any supplements - much better). Guest guest
Thanks Cathie. I actually use tinctures and would be interested in a dosage. I would imagine, for safety I would start with 5 drops three times a day. I have some in but have never prescribed it. I do prescribe Lobelia successfully for asthma.
