mjh,

Lately I started using evening primrose oil alongside with fish oil. I have trouble adjusting the dosage.Should it be at 50:50 ratio or another one? Have any idea?

Re: [herbal remedies] Omega 3 & Omega 6...

Francine Cod liver oil is a great source of vitamins A anD but not of Omega 3 fatty acids. For that look to either wild salmon oil ad/or flaxseed oil. My physician recommends a product called Omega Brite for treating bipolar disorder and her daughter is having significant success with it. I use Johanna Budwig's protocol of flaxseed ground, flaxseed oil mixed in plain yoghurt and lots of natural sunlight.Hope this helpsmjhIn a message dated 3/2/03 10:14:35 PM Eastern Standard Time, herbal remedies writes:

"Francine <feisner" <feisnerOmega 3 & Omega 6...What do you folks think of other sources of Omega 3s, such as hemp oil, borage oil, and evening primrose oil? I believe that hemp has the highest concentration of Omega 3.I've also heard that we already have alot of Omega 6 in our diets, a preponderance of it, in fact, and that we should really concentrate on ingesting more fish and cod liver oil, and the high Omega 3 sources that are veg-based such as hemp and borage. From my reading, a number of nutritionists believe that the ideal ratio of Omega 3 to Omega 6 should be 1:1, as it was for our ancestors, and that we are so outrageously far off of this ideal that we should focus on increasing Omega 3 in our diets.Does everyone here agree that cod liver oil is best taken by spoonful? I take about 6 oil capsules a day, which kind of "repeat on me" unless I break up my doses over the course of a day. Wouldn't this effect be exacerbated if an entire dose were taken at one sitting? Is it recommended that digestive enzymes be taken, to ensure better assimilation, if the "repeat" effect is experienced?I've read the files on Omega 3, BTW...FranFederal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1.
