I have a question. I realize that I live in Oklahoma and I don't have as many resources as someone in New York, L.A., or Seattle. I've been looking everywhere for flour made from sprouted seeds. Can anyone help? I don't even know what I'm looking for exactly.Dave S.Federal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. Natural methods can sometimes backfire. 2. If you are pregnant, consult your physician before using any natural remedy. 3. The Constitution guarantees you the right to be your own physician and toprescribe for your own health. Guest guest
Sprouted grains, beans and nuts are best because they have no enzyme inhibitors left in them after sprouting. Doc has some wonderful articles in the files and you should listen to his taped lecture. Many of us have special needs children who have been helped enormously by making this part of their diet digestible. Everyone I know makes there own. I think someone posted a link to a site with some directions earlier. But if you cant find the growning instructions you need, id be happy to post them.Everyone, do you all use sprouted grains instead of organic whole grains? What is wrong with quality whole grains? Do you think the medicinal properties of sprouted grains are the same as whole grains? Ive heard alot of contradictory information about this subject.Take care,Eric
Guest guest
I am know I am probably opening a can of worms here, but I am not sure I really agree witht the whole sprout theory. I find (except in specific cases) that whole organic grains work great. In my experience, spouted grains do not have the same properties as the grain they came from. One signigifant difference is there thermal nature. Sprouted anything is cooling, and generally not very good for very deficient people cool people, (except again, in specific cases such as people who react to high-gluten grains). As far as reseach goes, Im not really into why and theory of why as im into results. But I guess that comes from my background in TCM and Japanese TM. Remember to prepare properly, chew well, and eat in moderate amounts. Whole grains (breads) are best eatten with hearty soups, salads and veggies. Not with cheeses, fruit, sweeteners, too much liquids or thin/brothy soups because they can interfer with digestion. Does anyone here use grains for there medicinal properties? Ie, thermal nature, climatic nature, of course nutrient content, bio- avaliablity, etc.. Ie, Rye- Neutral thermal nature, bitter (astrigent and clearing), affects liver, gall-bladder, and spleen-pancrease, diminishes dampness, watery conditions in the body, clears " liver " stagnation, aids muscles formation, cleans and re-news arteries, aids fingernail, hair, and bone formation. Comments are welcome. Please remember I am not trying to razz anyone here. These are just my opinion and experience. Guest guest
Dear Eric, If you haven't listened to my cassette lecture yet on Naturopathy, you should send me a private email with your full name and address, and I'll have my office fire one off to you. This is free. ) I understand your disagreement with the western herbal approach as it differs somewhat from the oriental modality that you are currently studying. I have studied both approaches, and each have their plus and minus points. I chose as my main focus of research and practice, the western herbal philosophy rather than the oriental due to major disagreements with using the animal and insect parts the chinese are so fond of. I do however use oriental herbs but in a western fashion. I swear by Astragalus I have always used as my stable datum in both practice and research, to "use only those things that work". As a result of using this philosophy, I have hundreds of "miraculous" healings under my belt, including supposedly "incurable" diseases. Using "sprouted" grains, seeds, nuts, and most beans has been part of my approach as a result of much research, and takes into consideration the enzyme factor that led me in this direction.
