Hi Kathe,

Well that depends. Some places do and some don't. Some businesses in Italy use lots of pesticides. Every country is different though. If it isn't certified organic then what exactly are you putting into your body? Pesticides, herbicides, chemical fertilizers, what else? It may be very miniscule but these toxins tend to stay in the body and build up over time till they wreak severe havoc on your system. Lord knows we have all put enough of them into our bodies before we became "Organically Enlightened" and "Illuminated into Health Consciousness"! Now we have to get them out if we wish to continue into the "Golden Years" with any semblance of good health. Why keep adding more when you really want to be taking away. Okay, enough of my two pennies worth.

HTH,

Don Quai

[herbal remedies] organic olive oil

I actually have a question for those on our list that live in Europe. I have always been told, (my cousin lived in France for 10 yrs.) that they don't use pesticides in Europe the way we do. So I'm assuming that if you buy olive oil from Italy, that it's not full of pesticides or herbicides. Am I wrong? Now I buy an organic olice oil from Italy, but is it really different from the ones that don't claim to be organic? KatheFederal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1. I know that Europe banned Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) foods.

So at least on this front they were very smart.

I've also heard that Canada will not allow commercially US grown strawberries into the country because they are too heavily pesticided. Not sure if this data is correct but this is what I've been told.

Unfortunately, it seems the US is less strict on all of these issues.

The one that really got me most recently was that the FDA wants to not label GMO foods as such because it will hurt the industires producing these products.
