Hi Donald!

Whew! It was more like what food allergies we didnt have. It was

awful! Our physician did the antibody blood test. It is done with a

simple blood draw and is run through Alletess Medical. I thought the

test results were in error when we first got them as so many foods

turned up as allergins (corn, nearly every grain imaginable except

rice- even strange ones I wasnt familiar with, all dairy- cheese,

milk, etc, yeast, several citrus chocolate, soy, sugarcane, etc,

etc! Several of us also had severe environmental allergies that

worsened with allergy shots. We were a bit of a mess to say the

least. Anyway, within an hour of seeing those test results I cried,

went to disbelief, then decided to give it a 1 week trial of giving

up the foods that showed an allergy.

I went from tears to elation as chronic headaches, asthma, chronic

congestion and digestive disturbances cleared up within 2 or 3 days.

I no longer doubted the testings. We were free of the symptoms as

long as we stayed off those foods. Gradually, we were able to add

them back in on a rotating basis but,,,,, I failed to rotate the

other foods. I was using garlic, and onions for MSM as a detox as

they bind radicals. We were also using apples for the same purpose.

We ate them daily but.... after having digestive issues crop back I

knew it was time for a new allergy test. We live abroad so I wasnt

sure if it was an allergy or bad water. Turns out its these new

allergies and we also developed an allergy to the apples we ate

every day as well.

In answer to your question, " what changed " the allergies, several

things had a bearing. We had a nasty case of aluminum poisioning.

UGH. Our numbers were over double the max limit. If any of you have

alumnium cookware, PLEASE throw it out! After 10 years of use it can

leach into the food. The way it affected our allergies was to wreck

havoc with our immune system. So we became hyper responsive to

ordinary foods. What we needed to do was to strengthen our immune

system, detox, strengthen our liver and eat as healthy as possible.

We were also under medical treatment from our physician for the

aluminum poisioning. All those things combined along with bouncing

to facilitate lymph flow, and many other things and our allergies

have been decreased by approx 75% within about 1 and a half years. I

dont know what had the greatest bearing but I suspect healthy eating

and good old fashioned exercise helped the most.

Looks like there is one last question. In retrospect, I can see it

would have been more organized had I followed your number approach.

I hope this response isnt too chaotic (smile). Our family eats alot

of fresh fruits, veg, fish and lean meats. We couldnt go vegetarian

because of the soy and inablility to get protien but the soy allergy

is now gone so maybe we will cut back on some meat. We dont eat

processed, refined, or fried foods.

Its been a journey to say the least. I took nutrition in college so

we always ate healthy but we have had to dulge deeper because of our

medical issues. I am glad though, that there are aspects of our

health we can take charge of and positively affect through healthy

eating patterns and careful diligence to the toxins we are able to

avoid.

If anyone out there suffers from CHRONIC congestion, chronic

headaches, or chronic digestive issues (particularly in the middle

of the abdominal area just above the navel- not to the sides) you

may want to rule out food allergies. Allergies have increased 50% in

the past 10 years worldwide and it is important to identify and

eliminate the allergin triggers while strenthening the immune

system. Its no fun having chronic discomfort so it is good to try

what you can to identify and eliminate these problems.

Cindy,

Your ENTIRE family has all those allergies?? How many of you are there? I've

never heard of that before.

I hear what you're saying about chronic allergies. About a year and a half

ago I started having chronic upper stomach pain and of course testing showed

nothing (the medical community only recognizes two types of antibody reactions

as far as I know, and these are called IgE and IgG - I think - but there

are whole bunch of different kinds of reactions that happen in the body as

well. Read Allergies: Disease in Disguise by Carolee Bateson-Koch for further

clarification if you're interested. It's too technical for me to explain

fully, I apologize). So I went to my naturopath who suggested a strict diet

of whole foods, tons of veggies and no sugar, and lo and behold, my symptoms

cleared up within a month and I have been pain-free for almost a year now!

The problem is, I don't know what caused the reaction and I might never know.

The body is SUCH a complicated mechanism.

In my humble and very non-expert opinion I'd say that this is more than simply

allergies. You indicated the aluminum poisoning problem. How was this determined?

Did you do hair analysis? I don't know where you are the world, but I've

heard of a program in Britain called Foresight that does some very in depth

mineral and heavy metal analyses. I think we need more info from you, though,

as to how you were all diagnosed.

ILANA xoxo

You know, it sounds like if you get rid of the aluminum/metal in your body you probably won't be allergic to all those foods... have you thought about a blood detox? It's in the files... Suzi

Hi Ilana!Thank you for your post. Yes, we all (5 of us) have those allergies. Each one of us have nearly the exact same ones and at the same degree of reaction. I can relate to your story about your reaction. Thank you for sharing that. I will look for that book when we get back to the states. We return for good at the end of March. Yippie!Yes, we had an indepth hair analyisis done. We have had four of them and had our last one done when we were in the states for the holidays. We are still awaiting those results (waiting for international mail from my Dr.s office- groan- its bad enough trying to get a phone call living in the states). Our hair analysis is run through Great Smokies Diagnosic Center and they do an excellent job with it. They even cross test for variables like hair preparations that can give false positives. We all had heavy metal poisoning and since then we have all had these allergy issues. I am convinced the two are linked.
