I thought Lugol's was for external use only?

According to: http://www.sourceofhealth.com/22231.html it is the case:

Ingredients:granular iodine, potassium iodide, water. Put 10 drops on

sterile guaze to disinfect wounds. For EXTERNAL use.

Also from: http://www.drdavidwilliams.com/nc/thyroid.asp

(Note: NEVER ingest antiseptic or topical iodine. To learn more about the

source of supplemental iodine that I highly recommend, )

Maybe I'm confused - Just want to be safe.

Hello Carlin,

I spoke to my local pharmacist today about Lugol's. They didn't have it in

stock but said they could have ordered it for me, GB#11 for 100ml. He said

it is effectively an iodine solution which has gone out of use (fashion)

because it is no longer considered to be good for you and definitely not

something you want to take long term. The reason I took kelp in the first

place was because of the Basal (sp?) tests I'd done seem to show that I

might have had hypothyroidism. So in order to see whether there are any

changes I'd have to try to do the tests again at a suitable time. I'll keep

you posted.

I didn't know whether my thyroid was damaged or not. I always knew that I

had hormonal imbalance but no tests seem to be able to tell me what. What's

your situation?
