Hi Becky,

As to flour products, these include breads, rolls, crumpets, bisquits, pastas, cakes, and anything else that is made out of flour, especially white bleached dead flour. Best to see if you can find somewhere in your neck of the woods where you can obtain sprouted spelt flour and use that to make or bake with. If not then just cut way down or maybe cut out completely if possible. Most of us are so addicted to these products that it is quite difficult to just quit. If you must and can't live without the breads etc, then at least try to use whole grain breads. At least it is a step in the right direction.

Green tea is much better than black tea and you are not drinking that much. But the milk can still be a problem. Creates a lot of mucus in your system and just congests you. I usually drink my teas straight and really have no idea about what would be a good substitute for milk in ones tea.

Yes, the smoothie will be much better for you. Also if you have a juicer or can get one, then juice up those fruits and make fresh juices. Very detoxifying by themselves. Also fresh vegetable juices. Both using organic fruits and veggies of course. If you can't get those then you will have to do the best you can with what you have. If you need anymore advice please feel free to ask myself or any of the other knowledgeable people here.

Make sure that you research your water filter quite well so that you will know exactly what it will and will not filter. Don't be misled into buying one that doesn't do what you wish it to.

Becky,

I don't know where you are in the world, but where I am we can get some excellent

organic sourdough breads made from non-wheat flours. Sourdough bread is also

a "living" bread because the process of making the sourdough traps bacteria

from the air and grows it in a beneficial way. So that's another way to go

about still getting your bread if you need it and avoiding processed products.

Hi Becky,

Seeing as you are in London, I am not sure what brands of filters you have. Basically, you want one that will remove the micro-organisms, chlorine, pesticides, and other chemicals that we humans like to put into our drinking water. Of course the best way to go is a good distillation unit after filtering. But most of us cannot afford such luxuries so we do the best we can with a good water filtration system.

While cleansing you will want to stay away from teas, use only herbal teas as suggested in the cleanses, which you will find in the files under Dr. Ian Shillington. You would actually be better off by weaning yourself from black and green teas and going totally herbal anyway. Caffeine is just too hard on the adrenals and liver.

It is not uncommon for someone who recently quit eating meat to start loading up on the carbs. The body craves all those wonderful foods that are not good for us. Actually, it isn't the body doing the craving. It is the yeasts and other organisms that we are feeding on a daily basis. When we quit feeding them they tend to get a little uptight and let us know. Hence we crave sugars, pastas, breads, chocolate, anything that these critters need to keep them alive. Some symbiotic relationship huh!

[herbal remedies] Re: Detoxing, advice needed, please.

Hi DonI really don't eat very much bread at all, and when I do it's granary bread. I haven't eaten cakes for years but would you believe it, in trying to reduce the amount of meat we eat, my partner has really started eating pasta!!! He does all of the cooking in our house, so I'm going to have to cook my own food when he's eating pasta. I don't mind it, but I can *easily* do without it. I don't take milk in green tea. I've always been told that though green tea is really good for you - would this not be the case when detoxing, and is that because it contains caffeine?Any tips on what make is good? and what should I be looking out for? Thanks so muchBeckyFederal Law requires that we warn you of the following: 1.
