Guest guest
Patie, I don't want to break any rules regarding message board advertising. Lots of soap making suppliers carry Shea Butter for sale. You have to order a few ounces at first, if you are not sure of the supplier, to make sure it is not grainy or yellow and that it has no smell (whatsoever) to it. Good refined Shea Butter is creamy white, smooth like vegetable shortening, but with more firm consistency with no odor. My favorite supplier is www.the-buying-group.com. I use Shea Butter as a hair treatment about once a month, put a little on your dry, clean hair, comb thru, wrap with saran wrap, let it set about an hour, then shampoo it out...WOW...you will not believe how it conditions hair, especially if you bleach or color it. I order Shea Butter by the pound and use it top to bottom on my body, never buy any kind of other moisturizer, condition or stuff like that anymore. Over about a year's time, it has diminished my surgery scar to almost invisible. Renie
Guest guest
Dear Lauren, Valorie (and I ;o) used cocoa butter, and it worked very well = no stretch marks. In order to correct what's already there, may I suggest the Deep Tissue Repair Oil Formula on the outside, and the BF & C Tincture on the inside with a daily dropperful of DMSO. I am 5' 6" and I weighed 150lbs before the pregnancy. I was down to 140 from all the nausea induced starvation at the end of the 1st trimester. Anyway, the stretch marks only got worse. at 30 weeks I would get into the shower and when I got out I had a new full size stretch mark that was bleeding because it got there so fast. I think (although I have nothing to back this up) that my skin has little to no elasticity, hence the horrible stretch marks. Now I am on week 20 of my second pregnancy and I have more stretch marked skin than I do regular skin. I did all the oil and lotion things anybody could think of (I was under the care of a very good midwife/naturopathic doctor) and nothing helped. My question is, does anybody know of something that can make stretch marks go away? I say this cream on the TV, I can't remember what it's called. I'm sure it has lots of poisons in it. I don't want to use something like that but I'm sick of looking like my skin went through a paper shredder. Thanks for all your help. Guest guest
Everything but the DMSO. There is too much fluid transfer with DMSO and you don't want to take a chance on toxifying your baby.
