Guest guest
Planting trees is a good way to reduce pollution, increase oxygen, and protect from global warming. It is also a good way to add beauty to your property or neighborhood. Planting trees and shrubs around your home can reduce utility bills by 5-10%. Spring is a good time to plant trees all across the USA, when the soil loosens after the last frost of the season. Plan for large trees if you have enough space for them to grow wide and well, but if you have only a little space, plant a small tree. Every bit helps when we all plant as many trees, shrubs, or bushes as we can. You can start from seeds or seedlings, or go to your local nursery, and ask which trees in your area do well, grow fast, and don't die out due to disease. Plant strong, healthy trees that will last 50-100 years. Get instructions on how to care for your new trees and follow them closely. If you are not able to get out and plant, your nursery man or woman can do it for you. Please be sure to check with your utility company for safe digging locations so you don't hit a gas or electric line when planting your tree. Please pass this message on! Guest guest
/*Hi All,*/ I agree 100% with Bridgette " brightbrightlight " that planting Trees is a great way to battle Global Warming. And if every person who owns property in the US (Or any/every Country) would plant even one tree, it would have a tremendous impact! Unfortunately, it would still not be enough! Only about 49% of the U.S. Population even Votes in BIG elections, less in smaller ones. That is totally Disgraceful for an Advanced and Educated " 1st World Country " ! The BIGGEST impact everyone could have here in the U.S. would be to get out and 100% Support, in any way you can, Dennis Kucinich in the 2008 Presidential election! We had Al Gore in 2000, who's one of the BEST Environmentalists in the WORLD, and the People BLEW It by not voting in a large enough plurality to get him in (Have you see his film " Inconvenient Truth " ?) Dennis Kucinich not only has a Voting record on the *Environment* which is 100% favorable, but he's a Vegan, and Avid *Civil Rights Advocate* and wants us OUT of Iraq and for the U.S. to establish a * " Department of Peace " *! Read his ten point plan at his Site http://www.kucinich.us , and be Sure to click on each point and read the expanded plan he has. There's also a 12 Point plan he just released on a well thought out way for the U.S. to leave Iraq, move in UN Peace Keepers and to make reparations for the extensive damage which WE have caused there (Which includes over 650,000 Iraqi's being Murdered). Dennis also wants to *abolish NAFTA & the WTO,* which have caused over 10 Million U.S. Jobs to be lost recently to Overseas Countries, and where people are paid 50 cents per hour for their work (Mostly in China, where the majority of WalMart's stuff is made). If we get an Environmentally Friendly Administration in, they will also advance the use of " Alternative Energy " , which would move forward the end to the Global Warming threat MUCH faster than for our citizens to " Plant Trees " . But, still plant trees ..it's great! Our _*City*_ just planted 500 Tress, and we're only 1.2 Square Miles big! New Jersey, even with our horrible Factories and Oil Refineries, has the second best Environmental Programs & Laws after California! But with President Bush as President, our over all output of unfriendly Pollutants such as CO2 has reverted back to almost 1970's levels! Bush is a Coal and Oil friendly President, and until we get a President and Congress who will sign onto the Kyoto Conference Plan, the U.S. will remain the most polluting Country in the World. China, by shear Volume and Growth, will pass us up soon. But even they are starting to implement some strict guidelines, because their people are sick so frequently that it's affecting Corporate Output! But the ONLY real way to move ahead with the Environment and over 10 other Important things for People & the Land is to elect Dennis Kucinich as President! He was on CNN last Sunday and Fox on Monday. He also won the 2003 Ghandi Peace Award. But if we don't vote for someone like HIM, then the Islands and Coastlines WILL be under Water in less than 20 years! Watch Inconvenient Truth, and you'll agree, even if you're a skeptic NOW! /*Peace, :-) Steve*/ -- Steve Wider Back Home Again Asbury Park, NJ www.geocities.com/asburysteve2001
