Natural Diuretics?

Hi all ~ first I want to say thank you SO much because I have suffered

from a mysterious ailment for almost 3 years now ~ I had just about

every test and examination by my doctor and specialists and no-one

could tell me what was wrong. However after reading your articles on

Candida and starting on Cream of Tartar ~ I am slowly starting to get

well. I have more energy and am slowly starting to get back to having a

social life. Thank you all!!

My question is however ~ during the illness I have suffered terribly

from swollen ankles at night and abdominal bloating at all other times

~ and still do. Is there a natural diruretic I can take for this? Or is

there certain fruits or vegetables that act as diuretics?

Looking forward to hearing back from you all.

One of the best diuretics is water. Make sure you are drinking

plenty. Your body will hoard it if it thinks you are not going to

give it more. I swell every period and sometimes for no reason. I

up my intake of water and with in a couple days I am back to my

normal self.

Though I should say too, over loaded Candida count can also cause

this problem. Yeast is rough on everything, right down to the

cellular level, where the water retention starts. Put your feet up

often and rub your tummy (up the right across the middle to the

left, down the left then across the bottom to the right) I use this

circle massage whenever I feel yucky in the tummy.

Good luck and give it time. It took a long time for you to get to

where you are, it will take time to get you back to normal!

In addition to drinking more water (muscle tested for

appropriate tension for your body), I use Nature's Tea

by Unicity. It's a natural cleansing tea that works

wonders for bloating, water retention etc. All

natural.

Natural diuretics are as close as your

nearest Dandelion patch. They don't

call it Pissenlit in French for nothing.

If your yard is snowed under like mine

is right now, see if your local health

food store has it.

Or Chickweed, or Cleavers, or Corn Silk....

The list is long.

If you'd like something nicer tasting,

with fungus fighting qualities to boot,

ask me for a sample of totally yummy

Rainforest Treasure Tea.

There are quite a few herbs and foods that help as diuretics, but as strange

as it sounds, what you need to do is drink MORE water. I know it looks as if

you are already holding too much because your ankles are swelling, but that

will stop once you start drinking more water and helping your system flush

out toxins. If you are not drinking much water now, start slowly, but build

up to what is recommended by The Water Cure--which is half your body weight

in ounces. You take your weight, say you weigh 150 pounds, then half that

would be 75 pounds, so that would be 75 ounces of water you'd drink daily.

You should also--if you can stand the taste--add a quarter teaspoon REAL

salt (like Himalayan salt, or Celtic Sea salt, NOT table salt) per quart of

water. This adds the minerals your body needs. If you don't like the taste

of the salt in the water (I don't) you can always put the salt on your food,

or just stir some up in a small glass of water first thing in the morning

and then quickly drink that glass, then follow with something you like,

either more plain water or juice.

There is more to treating a yeast infection than Cream of Tartar.

Continue to learn more about how diet changes can help, especially

getting off foods that 'feed' the yeast, such as sugars & refined

carbohydrates, which quickly turn to sugar after you eat them.

A high protien/low carb diet will help get rid of excess fluid

retention.

Also, take some vitamin C & then lie down. That always works, according

to my sister.

You should add probiotics to your health regime. That will

not only help in your fight against the yeast infection, but

will help or stop the abdominal bloating.

You should ask your doctor about checking to see if your ovaries

are ok. Abdominal bloating can be a sign of ovarian cancer. I don't

mean to scare you & the probiotics may be the help you need, but

it's worth checking out.

You need to clear your lymph glands.

the lymphatic system is a network which includes the spleen, thymus and

tonsils. It carries the sewage of the body away from the tissues and neutralizes

it.

If not working properly you will experience aches and pains, inflammations,

swelling, fatty deposits, cellulite or bloating.

Most overweight women have sluggish lymph glands.

Foods to avoid:anything that contains chemicals, preservatives, food

coloring, artificial flavoring, stabilizers etc.

most fast food, packaged or prepared foods.

Avoid fatty foods, excessive animal proteins, sugars and simple carbs

Sweets, white rice, white flour, white pasta.

Do:

drink lots of water so that the lymph can flow properly and carry away the

toxins

eat fresh fruit, homemade juices, veggies that are raw or steamed

pure apple juice, pure cranberry juice, no sweeteners. can use 1/4 of each

to 1/2 of water.

essential fatty acids, (EFA'S) are much needed for a properly working lymph

system, flax seed, flax oil, fresh raw nuts and seeds, avocados, cold pressed

oils.

Herbs for cleansing the lymph glands:

echinacea and astragalus combined: Tea 1 cup 3 times a day

tincture: combined, 1

teaspoon 3 times a day

Wild indigo root: tea , 1/3 teaspoon root for each cup of tea, drink a cup

3 times a day

tincture: 1/4 teaspoon 3 times a day

do not take if pregnant or nursing

Cleavers: tea: 3 tsps of the herb to one cup water 3 times a day

tincture: 1 teaspoon 3 times per day

Not for diabetics or hypo glycemics

golden seal: tincture: 1/2 teaspoon three times a day. ( have

something good tasting to wash away the

taste but leave it in mouth as long as you can, it

will enter the blood stream faster)

tea tastes horrible only for strong hearts: 1/2

teaspoon per cup of water, 3 times per day.

Peace,

thyme
