Sunny-re:blood clots and a ? about iron deficiency

Hi All,

 

Sunny-I had a clot in my superficial venous system once. I was about

27 at the time and my grandmother(who raise me) had just died.She

had had breast cancer which metastizied everywhere and we were

taking care of her at home until she started seizure activity and

would not stop. Then she went to the inpatient Hospice.Anyway, I had

used up all my personal leave from work and I remember thinking, "

God-I wanna crawl into bed and hide for awhile.Maybe I can get a

blood clot or something just drastic enough to do that. " Sure enough-

a few days later-my leg swelled up to elephant proportions,had a

positive Homans and the dopplers,etc... all verified a clot inthe

superficial system. I am SURE my emotional state had a huge part to

play in this.

 

Has anyone heard of iron deficiencies causing chest pains? I know it

causes pallor,fatigue and lightheadness but I was wondering if it

could cause chest pain. I have a friend who had non-cardiac related

chest pain and the doc did some labs and found her hemoglobin was

low and started her on iron.Once she started taking this,the chest

pains disappeared so I was just wondering if anyone else had this

experience or heard of it.Thanks in advance.
