Guest guest
Hi All, I've been lurking for a while now and wish to report a part of my experience with holistic healing to you. I have a genetic tendency to clot and had been on blood thinners since I was 28 for fifteen years. Only 2 years ago I quit the blood thinners and after quitting them found out I am one of 3% of people who respond to them by becoming hyper-coagulable. My left leg has filled with clot before repeatedly. Interesting that the original clot had created symptoms for 2 weeks before they found it. The first time they looked for it, they didn't find it as they did not look high enough in the veing. When they found it, it was still only the size of a marble. Then five days later having been on i.v. heparin the clot had grown down to my knee. The blood thinners should make a person dissolve the clot and now there was an article that came out in 2002 in the Pst Graduate Journal of Medicine that says if a person is on heparin and clots worse or their clot grows to take them OFF the heparin and NOT administer coumadin. Naturally, when they had me finally " anti-coagulated " on coumadin they sent me home but I was back n a matter of days, the clot having grown again this time to mid calf, though I had been following doctor's orders to elevate my leg. To make a long story short, I clotted numerous times while on blood thinners and even while my blood was VERY anticoagulated with HIGH protimes. Now I am doing better than ever having QUIT the coumadin and I am sustained by sunshine and try to eat a healthy diet avoiding too much cheese or meat and including lots of tomato, fresh cut pineapple, and herbs like dong quai that inhibit clotting, dissolve clots, or assist the mobility of the blood somehow. A study was done (I found it on the net) that showed people who drank a cup of tomato juice a day had something like a 23% less likelihood of clotting than the test group who did not drink the tomato juice. Raw garlic is also good for " thinning " the blood. There is also a study that shows low level uv radiation unchains red blood cells. I have personally found sunshine to be very beneficial. In particular, sungazing, which is an ancient practice and which I learned on this site: http://www.solarhealing.com I hope this information is useful to somebody cuz I was supposed to be on blood thinners for " the rest of my life " and it seems I am doing better without them. Not even my doctor will prescribe them to me anymore. Blessings & Peace, Sunny http://health.Sunflowerz
Guest guest
I also read recently that as little as one half of a raw onion daily can make a significant difference in the clotting tendency. (i.e. making a person less likely to clot -- cleaning out the blood). , " Infinity Blossoms " <infinityblossoms wrote: > > Hi All, > I've been lurking for a while now and wish to report a part of my > experience with holistic healing to you. > I have a genetic tendency to clot and had been on blood thinners > since I was 28 for fifteen years. Guest guest
Thanks for your story, Sunny! This makes me think of my father-in-law and all the people who are on blood thinners. He has told by his doctors to avoid all green vegetables and many other things. Doctors should be advising to eat all sorts of food especially different herbs. Many herbs thin the blood, at least a lot of the tasty ones I enjoy. Doctors need to catch on that in many cases the answer should be more healthy food, not drugs and diet restrictions. Guest guest
Some of them will even try to scare you away from natural things like raw garlic, a natural food, saying only it will interfere with coumadin therapy. But, I did have a very informed doc at one time on a different health plan than we have not, and he did admit to me that raw garlic will elevate the protime (thin the blood) and did not try to sacre me away from taking it. One should watch the protime/inr however if/when experimenting with certain foods and herbs as they will effect it and sometimes dramatically. Natural vitamin E in combination with Vitamin C has also been shown to have healing influence on the veins, in addition to vitamin E having also a thinning effect on the blood. I'll never forget when I was still taking the blood thinners and learned about the vitamin E. I started supplementing with it and when I mentioned it to the coumadin clinic, the technician was shocked and warned me that vitamin E can cause bleeding. And I wondered what kind of denial she wasin because COUMADIN is Rat Poison and can cause you to bleed to DEATH. I've never bled as a result of a vitamin e supplement but did experience the enjoyable side effect of the callouses on my heals of my feet disappearing entirely. I have read however that the synthetic vitamin E has a reverse effect on some people, thus highlighting the importance of taking Natural and not synthetic vitamins. Guest guest
The Greens were probably strengthening his liver and colon and eventualy he wouldn't need as many drugs,,hence, less office visits, hence less money in Dr's pockets! I gained 18lbs due to divorce related stress. M.D. put me on HBP meds,=Hi Blood Sugar= more meds, hi cholesteral due to eating too much shrimp days before test,,more meds, liver problems later on,,more meds! That's why I joined this group instead of seeing my M.D. and whipping his unowat. --- In , " masuruha2 " <masuruha2 wrote: > > Thanks for your story, Sunny! > > This makes me think of my father-in-law and all the people who are on > blood thinners. Guest guest
-Good ol' fashion juice of a lemon in the mornin' on an empty stomach. Thins blood and cleanses the liver! Read the instructions on your meds. Blood Press meds warn against citric juices while taking meds. The last thing they warn you about is the damage they " might " cause to liver, kidneys, etc. More and more people are reading labels at the grocery store. What about at the pharmacy?-- In , " Infinity Blossoms " <infinityblossoms wrote: > > Hi All, > I've been lurking for a while now and wish to report a part of my > experience with holistic healing to you. > I have a genetic tendency to clot and had been on blood thinners > since I was 28 for fifteen years.
