Job description

Rate: 50/hr.

 

Sr. applications systems analyst / developer

 

Required skills as before ( java, java swing, web services, oracle ) :

Four year college degree - completed

Hands on skills / software development work REQUIRED

 

PURPOSE : work with application maintenance team to develop and enhance

web application products; such as common sales tool, TM2, probuilder,

RSA and order configuration.

 

CORE RESPONSIBLITIES :

* Function as technical development resource for new distributed

application development and enhancements.

* Maintain a high level of competence, professionalism, and system

experts while working through development life cycle.

* Work with project manager, business analyst and tech lead /

architect to provide detailed IT development estimates and

implementation plan.

* Analyze and translate user requirements into proper system

specifications and technical design.

* Delivery on commited scope and objective of project requests.

* Assure system and technical solutions are made part of the long

- term strategic development plan.

* Be responsible for development of technical component design ,

build , test and migration to production.

* Stay abreast of significant technological developments that may

impact the business.

* Coordinate cross - functional activities with other IS

departments as required.

* Continue to enhance technical skills through formal education ,

self-study, or the application of new technologies to business

solutions.

* Investigate application maintenance problems and make

corrections as required to prevent reoccurrence.

* Provide systems support as required both during and after normal

working hours.

* Communicate effectively to management and development staff.

Keep them aware of project status, and seek assistance or approval where

appropriate.

* Other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS :

Technical skills require ( MUST ) : java, java swing , JDK, J2EE

standards , IBM WSAD , web sphere, oracle, database; product development

experience, hands on coding skills in professional looking presentation

layer in java applications. Development involvement in least one

commercially available internet site is required. Development

methodology expertise in RUP is desired.

 

Technical skills required ( DESIRED ) : MS .net development , knowledge

of visual studio IE, hands on coding skills in professional looking

presentation layer GUI

 

EDUCATION : minimum - 4 years degree related to business information

systems / engineering. Graduate degree is a plus.

 

EXPERIENCE : minimum of 7 year experience in distributed application

development in a manufacturing setup.

Most recent ( 2 years ) experience must include hands on coding skills

in java , java swing , extensive knowledge of using industry wide

reusable components , JDK, IBM WS on sun / AIX platforms. Current

experience must include development of applications / products with

ORACLE databases. Previous experience in web application development in

other areas using C,C++, Oracle, SQL server database is a plus.
