Guest guest
Hello. I've been reading various posts for awhile now-interested in alternative methods and medicine. I've replied to a few when I thought I could help, but now I'm having a problem that maybe you can help me with. I'm fifty-I take powder supplement daily plus liquid calcium citrate with magnesium and Vitamin D. I also add E-Lyte mineral solution to my water, half capful per 8 ounce glass of filtered water. I try to get in 8 glasses a day. I excersize, treadmill for wt. loss but can't seem to get below 155lbs at 5'5 " ..no matter what I do. I try to eat well though I admit, I probably don't get enough fruits and veggies. I don't do wheat, white sugar or salt due to sensitivities and there is a family history of Diabetes II and Heart Disease-though it seems these have been due to lifestyle and not just because of genetics. These heart palpitations seem to be on and off. I was blaming them on anxiety and the doctor had me on generic Xanax for about two years. I was concerned about addiction so I eventually weened off of the meds and was doing fine for a few months. For the past week or so, the palpitations are back, with a vengence. I do have an appt. with a Cardiologist coming up-my last EKG was considered normal, but just for peace of mind, my reg. doc thought I could use a stress test. I am thinking it may be electrical-a imbalance of minerals or low potassium-not sure tho. I'm also pre-menopausal, with a hysterectomy and one ovary taken in June of 04 due to a Dermoid and Fibroids. It took me two years just to feel half way normal again after that surgery. Any help is appreciated and thank you in advance if you have any thoughts! Guest guest
sounds like hormonal imbalance which can drive you crazy. I take B vitamins- B50 complex and either flax or fish oil daily. I also quit a very stressful job 2 years ago and have stopped volunteering to do anything -- it's ME TIME. , " Suzi " <powitree wrote: > > Hello. Guest guest
Hi Suzi, Are you having hot flashes? Heart Palpitations can be connected with them. It sounds like you have some very healthy habits. Congratulations! Keep it up. As to your weight... Stubborn weight that won't come off can be due to excess estrogen. Estrogen causes your body to store fat cells, mainly around the tummy, butt and thighs. In return fat cells store estrogen. It's a vicious cycle for pre- and menopausal women! No amount of starving yourself or exercise is going to fix your estrogen issues. Do some research about natural progesterone. It is the body's own " anti-estrogen " and it helps to keep our estrogen in check. Progesterone is produced by the corpus luteum, which is the remainder of the follicle after the egg is released. As you approach menopause, your egg-popping becomes inconsistent. If you are premenopausal, your body is not producing progesterone the way it used to. A good place to start is Dr. John Lee's website: http://www.johnleemd.com Go to the Articles. I also have a ton of files I can send you if you'd like. Guest guest
I can't speculate as to the cause of your condition...BUT I can recommend a healthier pill to help you through to replace those Xanax. Try GABA. Its NOT gabapentin but the natural amino acid found in well stocked health food stores. It will give you that relaxed feeling from anxiety and some muscular relaxation as well to help you through the tough times. It has helped me for years and weaned me off of the addictive benzos with no distress. claire - " Mary Bagley Hughes " <tiredgirl50 Friday, January 05, 2007 8:39 AM Re: Hello, new here ..have an issue > sounds like hormonal imbalance which can drive you crazy.
