Job description

 

Unix systems engineer

 

Summary:

The individual will be part of the release engineering team which

supports software rollout of the wireless location system.

This includes writing installation scripts and supporting internal and

fielded UNIX ( Solaris ) machines as well as writing installation

scripts for software distribution.

Experience with sun servers and solaris is required.

Experience with solaris 10 and solaris 8 to 10 migration is a plus.

 

 

Desired skills :

 

3+ years supporting sun servers running UNIX

( solaris 8+ and solaris 10 )

Strong knowledge of GNU command line utilities.

Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

Ability to create, modify jumpstart Servers for multiple sun

Architectures and create FLAR images.

Able to create solaris installation packages.

Scripting skills in BASH and perl.

Working knowledge or experience in Cisco switches and Cisco routers.

Strong knowledge of sun hardware & architecture.

Ability to work under pressure.
