Guest guest
HI, I'm a new member here. I have a question for those of you familiar with acupuncture. I have been taking treatments since August of 2006. Now I go once a week. This is for migraine and fibromyalgia. I have felt like the needles are still in my ears for days, maybe not the needles, but the energy type of feeling. Has anyone else experienced this? Does it mean it's still working actively or what? It's just kind of weird to go through your day & bring your therapy with you this way. There is a bit of ringing with it, too. Thanks, Sue
Guest guest
Hi Sue- I am certainly no expert, but have had many acupuncture treatments...i'm thinking that the residual " feeling " you are having is due to the movmement of " chi " (energy) through the meridians, (or perhaps this meridian is still blocked) the whole idea behind acupuncture is to open up the meridians so that energy can flow freely throughout the body. the ears are especially sensitive...have you ever been diagnosed with tinnitus(ringing in the ears) before? i would have that checked out...especially since you suffer from migraines...you may have a middle ear condition... i am a migraine sufferer myself, and have found acupuncture to be helpful...the only problem is not being able to get to the acupuncturist when i'm in pain...i don't go weekly, but probably should...if only my insurance allowed me more than 3 visits per year.... good luck and feel better- alison , " masuruha2 " <masuruha2 wrote: > > HI, I'm a new member here. Guest guest
acup is one of the most interesting ways of life ...that i have/and like most others...just begun to touch......please understand....this is only my viewpoint.....records show that the use of needle-like aparatus's were first made of bone...later silver...then gold...and gold alloys.....to the scientific questionerr....why? first i would like to say in the older...{older is a misnomer as it can be confused with ancient or outdated not modern etc..}..system...it took a minimum of 8 years to dedicately study under a master....and one could work for that system of mastership and never reach the point of total knowledge..or awarness.......because.like science it is an ongoing progressive example.....one who has earned a degree in .a university [universe-city]...could have a doctorate or masters in physics or theology......but would never know all there is to know of that subject the other part to this is to be of service to others.and an encouragement.and wherever help can be given.to be ..of service eventually others would be more interested in tryng to learn more of health.and persue the roll of mastership now back to the needles............not actually needles...but mini electrodes.....that because of where and how they are placed...redirect and reopen a blocked or closed circut..that in a state of health is known as normal...if we talk of physical health..........that feels to us like heaven......we are in close attunement with god our source.......and we know.....a great secrete..{sacredness]...................accupe.....calls this chi or ki .......this is also the root word in chemistry........or the mystery of chi.......all these flows are one flow...or developements of one creative central flow............that is continually moving throughout its creation ......its properly understood as a - continuous functional energy flow-....every healing modality...no matter its name........or religeous...interpretation.depends on ...this interesting way of life....................thats as close to what i can say...............the energy flowing through you....me every living thing.........produces life....................it functions.....it has a job to do....................one particular flow is an extension of others the idea prevails in all these systems that at noon...12:00...the sun is highest in the sky..and is giving its maximum energy to anyone....and that noon time/though it seems to be noon at one place....is 4:00 am or 6:00 pm someplace else.........confusing...yes and no..............i phone paris france and ask what time it is........if i get all tied up in my clock...and don't know that they have the same 24hr system..i could get all upset that they don't know what time it is...or that my clock is wrong........................the root idea in the accp system is that at certain times...2 hour increments....from noon ,,,,every living thing on the planet ...takes part in a functional energy flow...that produces life along its flow.....in 24 hrs...thus 12 flows...one flow is from 4 to six am and called lung-function-energy -flow.....it comes from the previous flow....liver/function.....and circulates throughout..its dezignated path..doing its job to the best of its ability harmonizing/building tissue..revitalizing where it can.........this is a most remarkable flow......though none of the others are less or more so...as all are continual extensions........and there is still energy flowing in the other areas...........example if i can use time though it is 400 am now...it is also 8:00 pm and...2:30...elseware.............hint...i cannot slow or speed up time but i can be more efficient...........i have within me a system of.time.yet hidden in that system is much more....the practioners that really know the system flows..harmonize themselves accordingly....example at a certain time...do dishes...spend 2 hours in the garden........go shopping..........they can rhyme their lives to the flow of day and do a great variety of things because they do not congest their systems....thus the tau...or way of life......did you ever have a day when you could get nothing done?...........you could be out of harmony with a flow pattern....................if the lung function energy flow is in harmony..........life is at ease..........if its out of harmony there is disease.......................that flow is related to and helps all functions of the body.the exchange of air is just as important to yr muscles...and circulatrion and skin..as it is to walking../talking/playing/working................if the flow is out of sinq..orlacks the freedom of expression it needsbut here is the gift of all healing modalities....though we may have unknowingly impared these flows we can with knowledge..get them flowing again...............................reflexology....can do this...because at some time energy flows through the hands and feet..and the ears.......accupressure can........to...........becausejust holding a sore spot can bring a relieving.....i am hurting....you hug me you encourage me..{cour...heart}...i feel better.........well on a finer small and very exact level....thats what happens in accupressure........a lot of small hugs..................it works in reiki...notice the ki..........and it works whenever we use our hands...in prayer......in holding hands...in massage..inwashing....doing dishes...and cooking suppr................because these flows flow through the hands.they also flow through the wrists...and there are ways to..help during any season......our choice in occupations..is reflective of these flows....as some are considerd as tradesmen...others statesmen....others governing..........some say a disharmony in weather changes can produce anxieties...fears worries....thus illness...i can easily tell you...that the flows that flow through the clavicles....need help....so by holding them...we balance and harmonize..our inner structure...and often feel a change at the ears or toes or thumbs....any flow helps nutrition .......just a side note...the width of yr thumb is not the same as mine...or anyone elses.but it matches 100% the distance between accup points..on each of us...that measurement was called one inch....check it out...12 of them make a foot....guess where the yard is?........i said early needle/electrodes were bone....calcium and magnesium is bone and cartilage...calcium needs mag for bonding....other point...there is calcium in most of the muscles of the body............there is a togetherness here...........hemogloben in the bloodcontains iron....both one of the simple magnets...and the circulation of the blood is interrelated........so?what a wonderous bio/chi.michael..plasmic..organism we are..a walkin/talkin library of creation rod helfenstein; crescentwrench2003
Guest guest
Accupuncture may work for migraine. I am doubtful whether it will work for fibromyalgia. Accupuncture should not betaken continuously. After 10 to 15 sittings, you should take break for 2 to 3 months. Then go again if required. Accupuncture is nothing but a pain reliever. --- masuruha2 <masuruha2 wrote: > HI, I'm a new member here. I have a question for > those of you familiar > with acupuncture. Guest guest
I am not an acupuncture expert. However, Acupuncture is good for many illness, besides pain reliever. if you visit http://nccam.nih.gov/health/acupuncture/ you will find it has effect for " adult postoperative and chemotherapy nausea and vomiting and in postoperative dental pain. There are other situations--such as addiction, stroke rehabilitation, headache, menstrual cramps, tennis elbow, fibromyalgia, myofascial pain, osteoarthritis, low-back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and asthma " I am quite sure myself that acupuncture has very good effect for stroke rehab treatment. I have witnessed how well the stroke patients recoveried for their daily life after acupuncture treatment. also research demonstrated acupoints actually overlap with motor points, where the electrical stimulus is applied during FES. currently the research results are half half. some support that acupuncture is good for stroke rehab, some argue that it has effect, but only placebo effect. However, there is no other placebo has so good effect and so good rehab outcome. Wang Qiang Http://www.tcmdepot.com , A V SUBRAMANYA <subbie1952 wrote: > > Accupuncture may work for migraine. Guest guest
I am not an acupuncture expert. However, i don't think you should have such feels. usually during acupuncture, you should feel soreness, numbness, swellness, and maybe a little bit pain. after that you will feel comfortable and relaxed. if you feel like the needles are still in FOR DAYS, you'd better ask the acupuncturist next time. the outcome of acupuncture treatment is different and depends on the experience of acupuncturists. acupuncturist with poor experience sometime might not treat you well.
