it IS big and it IS clever

If you can't be a good example -- then you'll just have to be a horrible

warning.

Ok, I'm a little embarrassed by this but I burned my tummy (just a

little bit above my navel) while taking a hot cookie sheet out of the

oven. I was in the middle of a conversation with my hubby and not

paying attention. I did this on 12/23. It's about 3 inches long and it

blistered immediately. It's now finally starting to heal but still has

scabbing. I'm afraid it's going to leave quite a nasty scar. It really

itches right now too.

Can anyone recommend something to help the healing and also, once

healed...any recommendations on how to minimize the scar?

Thank you,

I dont know about reducing the scar, but for healing, I would recomend aloe

vera.

I used a wonderful remedy about 11 years ago when I

burned my skin with hot water. I had 1st & 2nd degree

burns with half of it 3rd degree burn.

A good friend made me a poultice of Aloe vera from the

plant itself..not juice, vitamin E capsule, honey,

comfrey root powder and mixed them all together. He

spread them over the burn which was the size about a

dollar bill. As it hardened it formed a protective

shell over the burn allowing the skin cells to re-seed

themselves. He told me this would reduce the scarring.

As it was so painful, I initially didn't give it time

enough to completely heal my leg, but the time I did

made a difference in the size of the scar.

I gave up and went to the dr. where he stripped the

burnt skin off....it had not broken open yet! Salved

it up and wrapped it in gauze...which created more

pain! I immediately went back to my friends ointment

and left it there till it fell off on its own.

Had I not done that I was looking at a skin graft. It

took months to heal. The scar is now a little bigger

than a golf ball around and barely visible. I keep

comfrey ointment around to mix with aloe for burns and

other injuries.

I am not a doctor, but I would recommend applying raw honey and then

covering. Once the skin has healed massage with almond oil to help

prevent scarring.

Good Luck!

Diane,

I was in a minor car accident about two years ago where the air bags

deployed and left nasty rug type burns on both of my wrists and lower

arms. The Drs. and others said it would scar really badly. I took my

friend's advice and used Mary Kay's Night Solution on the burns. I

don't have any scaring and just a slight pink area on one wrist. But,

my normal skin coloring is quite pink so it's not noticeable. I was so

impressed I became a Mary Kay rep. I have used the Night Solution on

other burns since with great results. If you would like more

information please email me.

Thanks!

CS--colloidal silver--for burns. Always keep a bottle handy for burns. When

one of our cats was only a few months old he tried to jump up on the stove

as my husband was cooking. He pulled a skillet down and splashed hot oil all

down both sides of his rear and tail. The poor little guy was just burnt

from the top of his hips all the way down to both back ankles, and the end

of his tail. I immediately ran cold water over him and applied fresh aloe.

The burns didn't blister because it went right down through the skin and

just burnt the skin off! He just laid for days and I know that was

uncomfortable for him because both sides were burnt, so no matter which side

he laid on his weight was on burns. I also know how much it hurt him when I

applied the aloe--though he didn't cry--outside of when he first got burnt,

he never cried. But my having to actually touch the burns made it so painful

for him. We had to carry him to his food and water and liter pan, as he

couldn't get up. It was slowly healing, but taking so long to see any type

of improvement. About 4 days into having to man-handle him for the aloe I

smacked my hand to my forehead!! What a doofus I was being, not remembering

CS spray. At that time I didn't have a CS maker, so I ran down to the health

food store and bought a $20 bottle of spray. From the first spray of CS I

knew he felt better, as we didn't have to touch the burns to apply it. And,

it was like a miracle--within TWO days I could see improvement in the

burns!! Every day, every single day right before my eyes, the burn area

shrunk, replaced by new pink skin! It was amazing. Within 2 weeks he was

entirely healed. His hair never grew back over the burn area, and he still

has 2 slim streaks of plain, pink, healthy skin that you can see on his hips

but the recovery time for those terrible burns was simply fantastic. I

immediately bought a CS maker of my own and would never be without CS again.

Even though I was always a firm believer in aloe Vera for burns, it cannot

hold a candle to CS.

For the scars you might try putting vit. E on it a few times a day, or olive

or coconut oil. All will help.
