A video game that helps kids fight cancer

I hope nobody on this list knows anyone

who needs this. It was an item on a show

in BBC this morning.

Together with an 8 year old leukemia patient

the Make A Wish foundation has developed

a video game that educates kids about what

is happening in their bodies when they are

fighting cancer.

No player ever dies in the game. As the

developer says: you can't give up!

It is free for the download.

Hi Ien,

Thanks for sharing. I like the Pacman analogy - kind of reminds me

of a phagocyte cell eating up all the nasty cells.

That is a wonderful idea! While sitting with my son in

Hemotology, for over 4 years, taking care of ITP. We

saw so many kids with Cancer. They are so brave and

strong. So much stronger than their parents even. But

when it comes to learning about what is going on with

their bodies, it's not an easy thing to discuss or

explain.
