Guest guest
There is a new product that is made out of the oil found in orange peels. The active ingredient is D-limonene. Yep, this is the same thing used to make the orange cleaners ( but this is the pure oil) and can also be used to kill insects such as fire ants. It is not harmful to humans but has a bad taste so it is offered in a capsule form when using it as a medicine. The oil is extracted out of the orange peels so you are not actually eating the orange, only the oil part of the peel. Most people would not guess that there is oil in an orange but if you strike a match and squeeze a piece of peel (outside part) directly in front of it you will see a huge flame from the burning oil spraying out. In a recent clinical test, this treatment works on 90 percent of the people who have tried it. You take 1 capsule every other day for 20 days total (10 capsules total). This gives relief of heartburn and acid reflux for up to six months for some people. Some have to use an additional pill here and there if it flares back up. My wife has acid reflux pretty bad and I just bought her some of these but I have not got them yet, will post and let you know how it works on her later. There are a couple of brand names I have came across. On is ROH10. You could probably make your own by using alcohol to make an extract or making a tea out of the dried peels, the only problem is getting it down and avoiding the taste. My best friend 25 years ago was from China and he told me they use dried tangerine peels and make a tea with it to cure nausea and heart burn as well as many other stomach aliments. This has been a practice or thousands of years there and is pretty much common knowledge in Chinese medicine. It never occured to me that this would work for acid reflux but it appears that it will.
