Guest guest
Looking for ways to cut down on dust? We have just converted to a no- carpet household and so far are loving it. We are using one small air purifier. We dont have many knick-knacks and aim to clean our air filters as often as possible. Wondering how much the air purifiers *really work* -- such as the Ionic Breeze. Does anyone recommend these or find them worth the cost? Thanks, Jennifer " I had three pieces of limestone on my desk, but I was terrified to find that they required to be dusted daily, when the furniture of my mind was all undusted still, and threw them out the window in disgust. Guest guest
We use an aircleaner on each floor of our townhouse. We clean our filters every 2 weeks. As we live in a windy area above a gulley...we are still forced to dust. So we use those dusting rags that are magnetic to dust and have a vaccum with triple filters including a HEPA. This at least catches the return air and is cleaner than most vaccums. The best aircleaner we have used is Orrek. Ionic Breeze is THE worst one. You want you that will move the air. One that will draw the air in and filter it out,not just sit there. As you run cleaners 24/7 it important to find one that is heavy duty. As far as carpeting goes... we have found that commercial or carpeting(the type made for kitchens), that is glued down is better than regular carpet over padding. We still have carpet for sound proofing and insulation. Even with bare floors, you still have to dust. Guest guest
That is a matter of opinion, I have used oreck and I have 2 ionic breeze gp in my house and would not be without them, we take one with us when we travel. My cousin has one upstairs and downstairs, we both have many pets, kids etc and no smell. I recommend the ionic breeze over oreck any day. Do you have documented data on the statement " Ionic breeze is THE worst one " . I would love to see it. My brother ordered one for his wife who suffers from asthma and she is doing much better. Guest guest
You're correct it is a matter of opinion. The person I responded to asked for an opionion and I gave mine. We also deal with asthma in our home and have found the Ionic Breeze to be less effective and the Oreck to be better for us...so yes it is a matter of opionion and how you use your machine. No need to attack or be nasty about a thing...it's just an opionion...... Guest guest
This is not about dust. A lot of people keep their windows closed for a few weeks or even months during winter. Never have air circulated with that outside the house. In my opinion, opening all windows in your house for about 20 mins every a few days or once a week is much better than any purifier. , " spreadwingsdove " <spreadwingsdove wrote: > > Looking for ways to cut down on dust? Guest guest
I was not being nasty, you stated it was the worst and I thought maybe you had some documentation, it was a really strong opinion.
