I've thought the same thing, but I went to the ER and they said I was fine. I

got the whole you're 27 and too young to have heart problem speech. The tests

they did came back fine there, But I am still worried. I think I will get a

second opinion, but if anyone else has any input it would be great. I forgot to

mention, I started taking asprin, fish oil and garlic. And I am a very high

stung person. No matter what I just always feel stressed out. Maybe someone has

some ideas with help with the stress too? Thanks, Lisa

I have a slightly enlarges heart. The Dr. says my EKG is great, and my

ECG came back good. I have chest pain though. The Dr. is blaming this on

anxiety, but I am on klonipin and occassionally adavan(sp?) and it

doesnt seem to help. Anyone have any ideas out there on why this is

happening and what to do about it?

i would suggest going to a different doctor. this

happened to my mom and she ended up having a massive

heart attack, got to the emergency room in the nick of

time, ended up have to have open heart surgery. i am

not trying to scare you, but you need to seek out a

second opinion and fast! don't waste any time. hope

all works out for you!

EFT (www.emofree.com) may help you with the anxiety. Try Rescue

Remedy spray for acute attacks (fits nicely in a pocket or purse).

You are never to young to have a heart problem and you are never too

old to repair it.

Make sure you use a very good quality fish oil (like Carlson's for

example) that has been properly cleaned of mercury. Mercury (and

some other toxic metals) may mimic anxiety and heart conditions.

Do you get proper sleep?

Do you eat sweets? Sugar can also cause emotional symptoms.

It " burns " holes in the brain. Well, sort of. You may just need to

replace amino acids so that these " holes " can fill up and

neurotransmitters can function (see Julia Ross's book The Diet Cure

for technical details).

Sometimes a liver cleanse is in order. Stress will hurt your liver

and according to the Chinese, the liver is the father of all organs,

including the heart. The state of the liver will affect the heart.

Of course this is just my opinion and although I don't bother

visiting doctors myself this is probably something I would visit a

doctor for, at least until I get a diagnosis.

Thank you for all the ideas! I dont relax enough, I do know that. I just

turned 27 and I have four kids between 9 years and 9months, so I dont ever have

time for me. I will use your advice and try and fit in time for me. Thanks

again!

Lisa,

If you are certain the doctors aren't just dismissing the possibility that

your heart is in trouble because of your age, perhaps you should look to

your stress level. Stress tightens muscles and has negative health effects,

so I would suggest you really work to get your stress level down, whatever

it takes, while you are still young and healthy.

Do you carve out even a few minutes of your day to just relax and enjoy

yourself? If stopping to smell the roses doesn't attract you, try prayer,

meditation, or perhaps journaling.

Is your body getting the nutrients it needs to keep itself in balance? Look

to your diet and supplements. Do you need to move away from processed

foods? How is your acid/alkaline balance? Are you getting enough

supplements such as B-complex to help you relax? Do you need to do a short

cleanse? How is your digestion?

Do you get enough movement in your day? Our bodies were designed to stay in

motion. If your work is sedentary, do you find time to exercise regularly?

If your stress has tightened your muscles, it is possible that they have

tightened to a point that you can no longer release them without help. Try

yoga, t'ai chi, a relaxing massage, a therapeutic massage to specifically

release the muscles in your chest that are tight (intercostals, scalenes,

and diaphragm in particular), craniosacral therapy, or movement therapy

such as Feldenkrais.

Oh, and don't stress over the list. Just take it a step at a time, but do

take the first step.

Good luck.

thank you for your input. They did test my heart and it was ok. I did have a

slight enlargement, and they suspect it due to my last pregnancy where I had a

short term problem w/high blood pressure and also I had gained 100 lbs! i

have lost half of that and feel a lot better but I really do feel pains in my

cheast a lot. I dont drink a lot of caffine but I do drink some, should I cut

this out completely? I smoke, but only about 4-6 cigarretes a day. A pack

usually

lasts me about 5 days. The Dr. said of course quitting would be beneficial

but isnt the cause of my problems because I dont smoke that much. I do force

myself to only smoke that much though. Could this be why I am feeling this way?

Am I constantly in with draw? I am looking for all and any possible input

people have and am willing to try anything. Thank you all so much!

Welllll, lemme tell you a little somethin' about klonopin... I used to

take it intermittently for anxiety. I knew I didn't want to take it

all the time; I never have liked to TAKE anything. I just used it when

I was overwhelmed with anxiety. One time I decided to go ahead and " do

what the doctor told me " (since that was what everybody else did, and

maybe they were right.....) and took it however many times every day

he said to. My anxiety went through the roof! *Constant* anxiety at

the same level, even when I didn't have anything to be anxious about.

It was so long ago that I don't remember very well, but it might have

taken a little while to build up to that level. Since then, I have

read several times that " they " KNOW that it does this!! Of course they

want you taking it all the time so that you'll BUY it all the time.

And 27 is not too young for heart problems - they should know better

than to tell you that!

Exercise. Have they told you to exercise? Of course with the heart

thing, you need to be more careful, but exercise is what will

instantly get rid of any excess anxiety I get. Burns up that

adrenaline or something.

Lisa,

Have you ever looked into an MSG allergy? I'll admit I don't know

about chest pain, but it causes so many problems it wouldn't surprise

me if that was one of them. And just in case you don't know- MSG is

listed under many different names and is in just about everything

packaged or processed. If you look up different names of MSG on a

search engine it will come up with a bunch of sites that can give you

information. If anyone knows more about this than I do feel free to

write. As a personal view though- I think MSG is bad for everyone.

Good Luck! Whitney

Ok Lisa, My name is Ariana, and I went thru the same thing ths year. I

was 27 also. I went to the ER twice and the third time I went, they

decided toadmit me. They did every test imaginable to my heart. They

found nothing. Then they thought it might be my gallbladder and I did

have some stones. I had my gallbladder removed. About a month after

the surgery, I was back in the same problems, rapid heart rate, chest

pains that were severe, dizziness, shortness of breath, and oter things

that pointed to heart problems. It turns out I was having servere

panic attacks. I was s stressed out and couldn't figure out how to

destress. I finally had to leave my job and have been alot better

since. I found that just having time to myself helped alot. I

suggestyou get your heart checked b/c you are NOT too young for heart

problems, but once they do the tests and if they are normal, then you

need to reduce your stress level. Find time for yourself, b/c stress

CAN lead to heart problems.

Good luck,

Ariana

one should always find time, at least one half hour

per day to relax, take five. you owe it to yourself,

and your family. ;)

See if you can find some accurate information about the risks associated

with the number of cigarettes you smoke. It stills sounds pretty risky to

me, but then I'm not a smoker. Whatever you do, do not give up. All of the

possibilities mentioned could lead to more serious problems and you're far

too young to have to deal with the complications for the rest of your life.

To help deal with stress and reduce panic attacks, eliminate all caffeine,

decongestants, and any other stimulant drugs. Also eliminate sugar and stop

smoking. Take lots of B complex vitamins and pantothenic acid and vitamin C. Eat

a nutritious diet. There are herbs that can help nourish your adrenal glands;

someone else can advise you on those. Also homeopathy, Bach flower remedies, EFT

and other energy medicine techniques, meditation, exercise, spending time in

nature, etc can help with stress.

Hi,

Try a simple thing like below.

Use a heating pad 1 " X 1 " size, China/Korean makes (Sunbeam).

Sleep keeping the pad on chest (in " ON " condition).

Infra red radiation from heating pads might help regenerate inflamed cells.

Pls Don't blame me if it doesn't work with you.

Suggested 'cause your tests do not indicate serious problems.

It is safe & no harm giving it a try.

A chiropractor is also useful in similar cases.

If the pillow you use is fiber pillow, change it to sponge pillow (Foam

type)

Fiber pillows use formaldehyde during manufacture, toxic to many.
