Guest guest
Hi My name is Flavia and i have a hypothyroidism too.Mine was a consequence of a bad hepatites i got when i was 14.I think that syndrome is called Hashimoto disease (sp?) My hypothyroidism was detected only 2 years later-- when i was 16-- .That delay caused me lots of problems like lack of concentration, poor memory, loss of hair and mixedema mainly on my legs.Besides that i got a lot of extra pounds. When i started taking T4 pills most of these problems disappeared but the mixedema. It took me 30 years to cure it! Please dont underestimate hypothyroidism, it can destroy your life.Take your pills everyday and be happy to have them. No, i dont believe herbs can cure our problem. I have had a hyperthyroid problem 7 years back and i've had a surgery of removal part of my throid glands. Since then (for about 5 years) i've been taking T4 hormons as pills and most of the doctors say i may have to take it for lifetime. Is there anyone who had this surgery and stop taking synthetic T4 hormon? Also i've come across a website www.greenlife-herbal.com it says operated thyroid can also be cured with this product. Anyone has tried this? Thanks Jenny
Guest guest
I agree with Flavia on this one: Take your pills and give thanks they are available. Most people do better on Armour (natural) than on Synthroid. Supplements that can help to balance the thyroid are sea vegetables and Maca. Guest guest
It is my understanding that Synthroid only offers one thyroid ingredient (?) while armour is natural and offers the full complex. How you respond depends on whether you just need the one part or if you need some, or all of the others. It doesn't appear that they yet know how to manufacture the full spectrum synthetically. Generally, one disadvantage of natural medicine including Armour is nonstandardization. Since it is natural and all animals and plants do not grow with exactly the same amount of ingredients (sounds like a recipe, but I can't find the right word, sorry) it is nearly impossible to standardize the dosage. That seems to be why doctors generally prefer synthetic drugs, perfering to be certain of the dosage of the needed ingredient to the balancing benefits of the whole plant. While I generally prefer natural medicine, I did notice a difference in my reaction from one bottle of Armour to the next.
