But you need to take magnesium with calcium and Vit D. There are a ton of vitamin supplements with all 3 as a combo pill. Calcium works best with Vit. Guest guest Posted December 27, 2006 Report Share Posted December 27, 2006 Actually, I have read in several places that it is a good idea to take a dose of magnesium once per day away from the calcium. Calcium needs magnesium, but magnesium doesn't need calcium. I take 400 mg of magnesium before going to bed. Magnesium is important for muscles to stay smooth and relaxed. Coffee drinking depletes magnesium, so if you are a coffee drinker extra magnesium is helpful. You will find most calcium supplements will contain some magnesium, but you can purchase magnesium alone. There is magnesium malate which is good for those with fibro issues. I also like chelated magnesium. Just as there are different kinds of calcium, there are also different magnesiums. Priscilla > > ........But you need to take magnesium with calcium > and Vit D.
