Guest guest
I had something a little similar (though it didn't get so bad or last so long), but I got to worrying about the surface healing, leaving anaerobic bacteria to grow inside the little puncture, so I just took a sterilized knife and opened it back up, and kept scrubbing it to keep it open for a few days, then pouring peroxide and everything on it. good luck Joy , " yloilsheal " <WhitDov7 wrote: > > I need some suggestions on what to do for an infection in my thumb. > About 2 weeks ago I made a small puncture with a knife (by accident) > and cleaned it out, but obviously not well enough. Guest guest
An experienced health professional can tell cellulitis by looking at the wound area. It is an infection in the tissue and can be extremely serious. Draw a circle around it to see any changes. Do you have a red line coming from it? Do you have a fever? Physicians give antibiotics like Augmentin, Cipro. I am sorry I can not give you any suggestions. Denise > > I am desperate for any help you can give me. Guest guest
When we were children we were always getting some sort of infection or other as we seldom wore our shoes outside. My Dad would clean the infection out with alcohol or hydrogen peroxide. Then he would use a bread and milk poultice on the site. You take a nickle or quarter size piece of bread soak it in milk. Place it over the infected area and use gauze to hold it in place. Use medical tape to secure the gauze to the site and sleep with it over night. You might have to use it a couple times before the infection clears up. It works everytime I have used it. We've used it to bring boils to a head so they could be drained, to remove slivers etc. Jenny Kernan Biofeedback Therapist www.quantumassociatesofutah.com

Guest guest
Hi, I suffered from boils for a long time. The infection sounds the same. Try acidophilus tablets or powder, large dosage and maintenance program, to boost the immune system. Thinking of You. yloilsheal <WhitDov7 Sunday, 24 December, 2006 3:13:19 AM Help with infection in finger I need some suggestions on what to do for an infection in my thumb. About 2 weeks ago I made a small puncture with a knife (by accident) and cleaned it out, but obviously not well enough. It started swelling and became red, and VERY tender to touch. I tried " healing drawing clay " , iodine, Tea tree oil etc... topically to no avail. I finally went to the doctor. Of course the first thing they put me on was Z-pack (generic) for the infection. By the 7th day nothing was getting better. I went back and the other Nurse Practitioner put me on a stronger antibiotic saying she thought it was celluitis (spelling) and needed something strong to know it out. I took this antibiotic for 2 days (second day today) Since taking this medication I have been vomiting, dizzy, headache, and anxiety. (I already have anxiety so I sure don't need some side effect of a med to cause more).... Any suggestions that I can try right away to help with thi situation. Here is what I have done so far: 1. Used Healing drawing clay 2. Soaked it in epsom salts 3. Used hot packs 4. Used tea tree oil and oregano oil topically and last night took oregano oil internally. I was on the Z-pack antibiotic for 7 days, now this one called Levaquin (they tried to put me on Keflex, but since I am allergic to penecillin, the pharmacist said it was too close to the same properties and might cause an allergic reaction.) I am desperate for any help you can give me. I need any suggestions, advise that I can try right away. I am concerned because she said it was cellulitis in my thumb.. I have no idea how she could tell that, but that is what she said... I look forward to hearing from you. I know this is the holidays and people are busy, but if you have any idea at all that i can try that is natural I would be very grateful. I don't want to spend my holidays being sick because of medication. Merry Christmas Health and Blessings Gail Please feel free to contact me off group if need be. I get the digest version so if you send it to me directly I will find it quicker at this point. Thanks for your help and concern in advance.
