I just joined and I have always wanted to know what works without taking

perscription drugs. I have always been interested in what else I could take

because I have digestive problems.

Sometimes I have acid reflex and I wonder if Aloe Vera Juice would help that

too?

I have taken some apple cider vinegar and honey and that does work and I

have heard of people taking some red pepper with the apple cider and honey.

Any help will be appreciated.

Take Care,

Carolyn

There are 2 things that cause an ulcer that I know of.

1. It can be chemically induced by using aspirin, ibuprofen or other

drugs that have an action of disolving the tissue. Aspirin is an acid.

These drugs dissolve some of the lining in your stomach and can

cause a sore, especally if you take them for a long period of time and

they sit in the same place in your stomach time after time. You should

never take large doses of either for over a few days at a time or you

risk getting an ulcer from it. I learned this the hard way.

Try letting an aspirin disolve under your tongue until it completely

disappears and you will fully understand what it is doing to your

stomach. It forms a sore and the acid found in the stomach eats at

itas well and makes it even worse and will not let it heal even after

you stop the aspirin.

To get rid of it, stop taking aspirin first. You need to lower the

acid in your stomach for at least 3 to 4 weeks by taking pepcid AC for

a couple of weeks and then switch to tagament for two weeks. You also

need to take pepto bismol 5 or 6 times a day, try to keep some in your

stomach at all times. Pepto (bismuth subsalicylate is the chemical

name) is an antibiotic and kills bacteria. You should see considerable

relief in 1 week, all symtoms gone within 2. Continue lowering the

acid in you stomach for 2 more weeks to give it time for full

recovery. Eat anything you want after the first 2 weeks.

2, If you try the above and it comes back after a few weeks you have

the bacterial kind of ulcer. This is caused by a bacteria called

helicobacter pylori that goes very deep in the lining of the stomach

and is very hard to kill. You will need to take 3 antibiotics all at

the same time to get rid of it. Take penicillin, streptomycin and

pepto bismol for a full 2 weeks. Also lower the acid in your stomach

as described above. After the 2 weeks of antibiotics you need to keep

the acid in your stomach lowered as described above ( 2 more weeks) to

make sure it heals completely.

Ulcers are not caused by spicy food or that kind of thing, it is

caused by either one of these two reasons.

When taking this much antibotics is is likly you will develop a yeast

infection becuase acidophilus bacteria in the intestines and vagina

keeps yeast from overgrowing. The acidophilus bacteria is killed by

the antibiotics but the yeast is not so an imbalence is created

allowing the yeast to grow out of control. To keep this from happening

start taking acidophilus (pills). Eating yogurt also helps to replace

some of the lost acidophilus. Bryers brand is now offered with

probotics in it, use this if you can find it. It is a combination of

acidophilus and other bacteria essential for good digestive health. It

is advisable to also follow this at any time you get a yeast infection

for any other reason. It works better than the creams you buy at the

drug store. Start taking it at the very first sign of trouble.

For acid reflux:

A treatment that has just recently been discovered by the western

world but has been known for thousands of years by Chinese medicine...

My best friend 25 years ago was from China. He told me that they use

dried tangerine peelings to make a tea and for curing many stomach

aliments.

There is a new treatment for acid reflux that uses Orange Peel Extract

in a capsule. The product name is ROH10. So far the studies have shown

very good results in 90 percent of the people who used them. The best

thing is that it is not needed every day. You take one 1000 MG cap

every other day for 20 days, 10 caps total. That brings complete

relief for many people up to 6 months. They may have to use one

occasionally if it comes back or may have to repeat the 10 caps about

every 6 months. The active ingredient is D-limonene which is the oil

in the peel. This is the same thing used in the orange cleaners you

buy, it is d-limonene as well. I think you can probably make your own

extract by using orange peels in a bit of alcohol (vodka or that kind

of thing) or even using hot water and making a tea like my friend from

China but the taste would probably be pretty bitter so it is probably

worth the price of the pill to be able to avoid that.

You do not want to use this if you have an ulcer or if you are

pregnant but if you just have acid reflux this will help.

You can also drink something acidic the first thing in the morning

such as vinigar or lemon juice ( in water of course) to trick your

stomach in to thinking it has plenty of acid so it shuts off

production. This works very well for many people.

Good luck.

golden seal or cayenne will heal ulcers, taken with althea ( common name

marshamallow) to coat the stomach. Tinctures work best, sometimes called

extracts. Cayenne can be taken powdered in caps.
