Guest guest
Hi everyone, Have you seen the current news article on herbal supplements and how they are ineffective for menopause? I find this interesting, since I'm in perimenopause, taking herbal supplements and having great results with them! I can't help but scratch my head over this one, since the herbal supplements I've been taking have done a world of good for me! I can't help but wonder if this is another way that the drug companies are trying to convince people that they should buy their drugs because that's the only thing that works. Here's the link: http://news./s/ap/20061218/ap_on_he_me/menopause_herbal_remedie\ s_4 <http://news./s/ap/20061218/ap_on_he_me/menopause_herbal_remedi\ es_4> <http://news./s/ap/20061218/ap_on_he_me/menopause_herbal_remedi\ es_4> The scariest part of the article is this paragraph: " Certain antidepressants have proved effective, and one company, Depomed Inc. of Menlo Park, Calif., plans to seek the Food and Drug Administration <http://search.news./search/news/?p=Food+and+Drug+Administratio\ n> 's approval to sell an anti-seizure drug, gabapentin, for relief of hot flashes. " The article isn't all disparaging though - it does mention the effectiveness of meditation and self-hypnosis. Anyway, I know I'll keep using my herbs! ~Regina
