I was wondering what some of you might suggest taking for high cholesterol?

I'd like to treat it with something besides the medicine prescribed by the

doctor. Lipitor.. I can't afford to buy it.

In my Prescription for Nutritional Healing book that I have, it gives me a list

of stuff to take. Most of them say as directed on lable. Here are a few things

listed, Apple pectin, calcium, fiber, Garlic, Lipotropic factors,Vitamin A with

mixed carotenoids, Vitamin B complex plus extra vitamin B1 and vitamin B3.

Eating apples, bananas, carrots, cold water fish, dried beans, grapefruit (which

you cannot have with lipitor) and olive oil.

I hope this helps you out. If you live by a health food store they also might

be able to help.

Thje 1600 Milligrams of Garlic Gel Tabs are the best. Taken 3 time a day 4 each

meal. get them at Walmart and the are reasonable. We both take them. I had been

sick in bed for 26 days and couldnt eat anything except Baby Food. My Husband

started giving Me the Garlic because He believed in it and that is the only

thing that got Me up and running within a few days after starting taking it.

GOOD! In a few more decades those statin

drugs will be totally discredited.

According to many good doctors who are not

in thrall to Big Pharma they do more harm than

good.

You are better off eating lots of garlic, like

some members already suggested.

You might also add some sea vegetables and

some cayenne pepper. Hawthorne is a great

safe heart herb too.

The following information comes from Dr David

Williams.

He puts out a free e-newsletter.

Go here to .

http://DrDavidWilliams.com

Here is the gist of it.

Statin Drugs are useless and dangerous.

Useless because cholesterol itself is not the

cause of heart attack, and dangerous because

they rob the body of the important heart

nutrient C0Q10.

Inflammation in the arteries is the real culprit.

Watch out: the medical-industrial complex will

start recommending anti-inflammatory drugs.

The real solution is to halt the cause of

inflammation. Inflammation occurs in the

presence of too much homocysteine.

Homocysteine is an acid-like waste product

that forms when you eat red meat and other

protein foods.

Too much homocysteine can " burn " the delicate

tissue of artery walls.

Plaque is the body's attempt to repair the

damage. Cholesterol happens to be the

material used for repair.

So, freaking out over cholesterol levels

is like worrying about the presence of

duct tape on a leaky water line.

Now, normally homocysteine is broken down

by certain B vitamins. I am pretty sure I read

somewhere else that the most important

ones are Folic acid, B6 and B12.

Why are so many people deficient in B vits?

For many of them, it may all start with an

underactive thyroid. AHA!

We know by now that the thyroid is frequently

stressed in middle age.

As the sex glands produce less, the adrenals

and thyroids pick up the slack and may get

burnt out.

You can help your thryroid even if the drs don't

find an obvious clinical malfunction.

Certain foods help the thyroid by nourishing

and balancing the organ.

I am thinking in particular of Maca and Sea

Vegetables aka seaweed.

Here is an interview with Dr Viana Muller

on the topic of Maca and thyroid health.

Hi there,

Read your email about high cholesterol. If you want to do away with this

problem, you should go for 1 hour brisk walk early in the morning. Burn

your callories with exercises, eat plenty of soya beans and don't take

oily/fatty items at all. Your problem will gradually come down.

Try this for high cholesterol/high blood pressure. it's an all

natural beverage called MonaVie. More info is found at

www.mymonavie.com/constancebrodersen

MonaVie contains 19 of the world's healthiest fruits put into perfect

balance. These fruits provide powerful antioxidants and

phytonutrients that our bodies need on a daily basis to repair free

radicals left behind. These free radicals eventually lead to

disease, cancers and ailments.

I hope this helps.

Remedies for lower cholesterol:

1. Onion juice reduces cholesterol and works as a tonic for nervous system. It

cleans blood, helps digestive system, cures insomnia and regulates the heart

action & helps in lowering cholesterol.

2. Sunflower seeds contain a substantial amount of linoelic acid which is

helpful in reducing cholesterol deposits on the walls of the arteries.

Substituting oil of sunflower seeds for some of the solid fats like butter &

cream will, therefore lead to a great improvement in health & lower cholesterol.

High Blood Pressure

Mix juice of onion and pure honey in equal quantity. Taken two spoons of this

mixture once a day is an effective remedy for high blood pressure. Take for

about a week. Upon noticing improvement, take for few more days as needed.

Other helpful remedies for High Blood Pressure:

Keep clean potable water in a copper urn [vessel- glass/bowl] overnight. Drink a

glass early morning.

Take four leaves of Basil and two leaves of Neem (Margosa) and grind them with

four spoons of water. Take this ground mixture empty stomach with a glass of

water.

Eat empty stomach one Papita (Papaya) everyday for one month. Do not take

anything after this for at least two hours.

When I was a child (I am now 70) my grandma used to cut up onions and

mix them

with brown sugar and give us the liquid to stop our coughs.

Would eating the lovely sweet Vidalia onions have the same effect on

lowering cholesterol?

My late husband and I were visiting in Canada and went to a plant that

processed

sunflower oil. Seeing how it was made put me off using it.
