Strep throat will only get worse if not treated with antibiotics. You really should go to the doctor. As much as I don't like the overuse of antibiotics, they do help greatly with serious infections. Guest guest
If you do have Strep Throat, this will need to be confirmed by swab test, and you will need an antibiotic to clear it up. There may be natural remedies out there for this, I'm not sure if they'd be complete enough-but to be sure it's treated quickly and thoroughly-you should see a doctor and get a Rx. Maybe someone else can offer you another alternative-but don't wait too long. Left untreated, strep infection can lead to heart problems later. Best wishes, Susan NM HeiressArts wrote: Everyone, my daughter just had strep throat, and I thought I was immune, but I've lost 15 lbs. dieting since last Thursday in a dance competition, and now I think I have it. Guest guest
You could try sucking on xylitol mints. Xylitol keeps bacteria from sticking. Also suck on chewable vitamin C. Guest guest
try gargling with warm water and colloidal silver - three dropperfuls in a 4 oz. glass of water. Do this twice a day and see if you don't get some relief. Guest guest
Hey Judy, I always use echinacea. It always works for me. What I do is drop 4 or 5 drops staight down in my mouth where it hurts. Its more effective if you can swish it around with your saliva for at least 30 seconds. I do this about every hour until relief! Now my daughter uses about 60 drops mixed with saliva when she has the sever case of strept. I also crew up a couple of zinc losenges every few hours too. Hope this helps, Deborah , " Judy " <catsjudy wrote: > > try gargling with warm water and colloidal silver - three dropperfuls in a 4 oz. glass of water. Is excellent. Recent research shows that it counteracts many bacteriaie, including molds. I use it as a spray - use it as a 'guard againt' pathogens especially in winter. Also, 'Zap it with Zinc' + Vit-C. two-in-oone, available from any pharmacy. Zinc+C with the Colloidal, bingo. Dead germs <smile> (BTW I am Molly from the UK. just found your site, courtesy of . (OTC: CFTN) today announced that American Biotech Labs (ABL), a private company in which Clifton Mining owns a 23 percent interest, has just received its fourth set of EPA approvals. These approvals govern the use of ASAP-AGX-32® against additional pathogens. They broaden the range of bacteria for which this product is approved to and include yeasts and environmental fungi. The Nature of the Tests These most recent tests were exceptionally stringent. They involved using the ASAP-AGX-32® against high concentrations of a variety of pathogens to kill all colony forming units within 10 minutes. All tests were successful. Black Mold One of the most important new approvals was for environmental fungi, including black mold. Black mold is common in buildings throughout the U.S., and often causes upper respiratory tract infections. Black mold is notoriously difficult to kill, and to the best of ABL leadership's knowledge, ABL's ASAP-AGX-32® is the only non-toxic and non-irritating product that has received EPA approval for this use. " We believe our nano-silver product is an important non-toxic broad-spectrum anti-pathogenic, " said Keith Moeller, VP of marketing for ABL. " It is gratifying to receive additional approvals that extend the range of accepted use for this product, as we continue to work to further extend the range of applications for this technology, whichis now backed by patent # 7135195. " Clifton trades on the U.S. OTC: (CFTN). Copyright 2006 PRNewswire << (More) http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/clinicalresearchoffice/news/newsletter/apri l2006/ Guest Article: Silver in Human Healthcare, 3000 Years Experience and Research (Dr Alan Lansdown) Silver has a long and fascinating history in the study of human healthcare, but is still an enigma in medical science and a subject of intense research, industrial enterprise and speculation. From the days when it was supposed to confer health-giving properties to drinking water for the nobility in ancient dynasties, silver has been employed in a vast array of therapies and devices in human medicine including bone prostheses, treatments for epilepsy, ophthalmic surgery and veterinary medicine. Early surgeons used silver wire to suture wounds and silver foil to protect against infections long before the classical studies of Louis Pasteur and Robert Koch. Despite its astringency and ability to cause local irritation, 1% of silver nitrate was found clinically beneficial in controlling neonatal eye infections; the reliability of these reports might be questioned! From the studies of the 1900's, silver has become established as a broad spectrum antibiotic with efficacy against opportunistic pathogens and environmental pathogens, including MRSA. Early workers assumed that silver was absorbed by sensitive bacteria from low concentrations (1ppm) and acted by an " oligodynamic mechanism " in inactivating respiratory and metabolic enzymes. Silver nitrate was possibly the first recognised antibiotic and is still used today in the treatment of severe burn wounds and lesions with life-threatening infections. Research in recent years has seen the introduction of safer wound care products including silver sulphadiazine, sustained silver ion release wound dressings and even silver-containing elastoplast into wound care. Further, in the quest for antibacterial medical devices silver is now used as a constituent or coating in heart valves, prostheses, in- dwelling catheters, bone cements, orthopaedic pins and dental devices. Colloidal silver products enjoyed a limited period of success in wound care in the mid-1900's, but were withdrawn when patients developed a slate-grey complexion (argyria) as a side effect. Although cosmetically undesirable and socially embarrassing, argyria is not normally life threatening. (For Imperial College scientists who browse the internet, colloidal silver preparations are now publicised at knock down prices, with recommendations for treating most human diseases including back-ache, malaria, old age etc, albeit that the scientific evidence of their therapeutic efficacy is decidedly dodgy.) The colloidal products were superseded by safer products such as silver sulphadiazine and the new range of sustained silver ion release dressings which form the mainstay of wound care clinics today. Silver in textiles is the " product of the moment " and it is only a short time before high quality hygiene garments will be available in high street boutiques. Research at Charing Cross Hospital has focussed upon the efficacy of the sustained silver release wound dressings in controlling wound infections and patient comfort. Although the dressings currently available differ greatly in their design, silver content and presumed mechanism of action, they are variously efficacious in controlling pathogenic infections and associated effects like odour, wound exudates and patient discomfort. We have demonstrated that most bacterial infections commonly resident in skin wounds are sensitive to silver and that silver-resistant strains are probably rare. Possibly less than 5% of patients carry silver-resistant infections but this has to be ratified in larger scale studies. Silver releasing wound dressings are generally safe in use and are beneficial in advancing the repair of indolent and non-healing wounds. Silver released from the dressings is not readily absorbed through intact or damaged skin but deposits in outer layers of the cornified layer as silver sulphide. Some becomes bound in complexes with albumins and macroglobulins and may be absorbed into the circulation. Dr Lansdown has a particular interest in the toxicity of silver and in the body's defence mechanisms against xenobiotic metals. Silver is not a trace metal and has no recognised physiological or nutritional role in the human body. Whereas most people show a modicum of silver in their blood (<2.3µg/L) through the use of silver to control Legionalla in water systems, or through consumption of silver in food, the body does not normally accumulate the metal. Delayed hypersensitivity is the principle adverse effect of silver in the human body but the true incidence is not known. The widespread use of silver these days in clinical and preventative medicine provides fertile ground for future research. Although silver controls most human bacteria in plate cultures, the readiness of the biologically active Ag+ to react with free anions, proteins and cell membranes, reduces its antimicrobial efficacy in the patient. Further research is required to investigate the reduced action of silver in eliminating bacterial infections associated with biofilm formation as occurs in dental plaque and in association with bacterial attachment to heart valves, in-dwelling catheters and orthopaedic pins. Guest guest
Dear Friend I would recommend you alternative medicine for strep throat. For the throat irritation and sleepless night cough please take one teaspoon of Corriander Powder and chew for some time, say 5 minutes. After a minutes take a glass of lukewarm water. Its highly effective and no need of taking any medicine. I guarantee it will heal.
